Chronograph setup hacks?

So how far from the muzzle do you place an Oehler 35? Seems I’ve read/heard 10 ft. That really doesn’t reflect true muzzle velocity where as the garmin does sitting right next to it. Or I’m I wrong on this thinking.

Came up with this simple swing arm mount for my front rest. It uses a Arca style camera mount. I put a second receiver for the mount on the supplied tripod for other shooting.

I set mine at 10ft. in a side by side with the garmin, its was the same vel.
