Got To LOVE a 6BR

The site exists because of the 6mmBR.
Which is reason enough to have some affinity for the cartridge.

I have had three straight 6BRs and a few variants of the case. One of my favorites, when I’m introducing someone to shooting and they want to try their hand at groups or hit steel, it’s always been one of the easiest cartridges for people to shoot. Low recoil, accurate and easy to load for.

Took my 6BR for a spin today.
28.5 N140, CCI 450s
105 Hybrids
seating depth test resulted in bug-holes at 300 yards. 19 thou jump and 22 thou jump were the clear winners. 4 shot groups.
Can cover 8 shots with a dime from back to back seating depths. Gotta love it! Thanks @Jay Christopherson and @Erik Cortina for the barrel and Erik for the reamer. 26” 7.83 twist Brux. 2650 FPS…slow I know but this is predominantly a 300 yard rifle.
Excellent!

I have 2 of those MDT XRS Chassis, they are excellent for the money. I will be getting another at some point.

I like dipped pattern.

Thanks! I went with the XRS cuz my McMillan order was taking too long! I got one with a 13% off coupon from optics planet in left handed for 478 bucks delivered and am really happy with it. Worth every penny. Won’t be my last one !

Yep a great cartridge.

The site exists because of the 6mmBR. I had a Savage in .260 Rem that kept delivering split groups in the 7s and 8s with factory barrel.

I put on a PacNor 3-groove prefit 1:8"-twist 6mmbr barrel. The FIRST measured group out of the gun was four shots in a witnessed 0.168". That was with Varget and Lapua 105s.

That experience (shooting sub-quarter-MOA right out of the gate with a new barrel) inspired me to start 6mmBR.com which later became AccurateShooter.com .

Here are Nine 3-shot targets shot at 100 yards with that 6mmBR Savage:

Done a lot of shooting with Jimmy Stekl who developed it for Remington and rode it into the HOF.
Jimmy still shoots one weekly @300 yards and is tough to beat @ 85 years old.
