Dang shop gremlin!!!!

Understand your frustration. Lost my Wheeler Inch-Lb torque set for scope bases/rings about a year ago. Replaced it soon after thinking I loaned it (but to whom?!?).
Had to move 3 .50 Cal ammo cans to get to some Handloaded Garand ammo for a Independence Day Shoot. Well, wedged between the cans and the wall was the Wheeler case/contents.
Relieved that I’m not totally losing my faculties just yet, and, on the bright side, I now have a set for the shop and my shooting box.

This stuff goes to the place where missing socks go....the space/time continuum. Then they re-appear somewhere else. In the case of socks, they re-appear as Tupperware lids that don't fit anything. For me, its sizing die bushings. My .248 disappeared. It reappeared as a .246....

The gremlin in my shop loves it when I take my glasses off and set them on the bench. The little bastard then comes out of hiding and moves my glasses to a different location causing me much time and frustration trying to locate them. I've said this enough that my 6 year old grand daughter is now setting gremlin "traps" of various designs in an attempt to help me out.

Everything in my shop has its own spot to stay. Last month I needed an inflation needle for a project. I knew where they were supposed to be. Looked there. Zero. Searched everywhere else. Zero. Went back to original spot. Zero. Went to son in law’s and borrowed 1. He said keep it. Used it and went to put it where my others should have been. Placed the borrowed needle on top of my package of needles!!!!!

Had to do some lathe work on a part that came out of the milling machine. Set it down and figured I'd finish the next day. Next day I looked all over for that part. Could not find it. Made a new one and chucked it up in the lathe for the final bit of work. Look down, there is the part I couldn't find sitting on the crossfeed assembly... :(

I made the mistake of introducing my wife to the shop and showing her where everything was conveniently and reliably located. Apparently, it is way more convenient to walk into my shop to get a needed item than it is to find hers…

Now when I can’t locate something the obvious answer is go interrogate the interloper… she can’t be trusted.
