HELP with SEB NEO disassembly

Keith Hansley in NC

Gold $$ Contributor
Anyone who has completely disassembled a SEB NEO (and I mean completely) and put it back together(with no leftover parts)and it functions better, please reach out to me. I am at astandstill to figure how the posts are attached and disassembling the joystick from the housing. I want to do a complete clean, relube and adjustment along with having the main parts powdercoated.
Thanks in advance,
Keith Hansley

I know, contact Seb,but I want to try stateside first

Take pictures of each and every step that you do. But all screws in separate bags labeled very detailed. There is a set screw on the bottom of main unit that you loosen, pull out the main shaft the joystick slides in to and the whole thing should pull out. It’s a great and simple design. If I’m forgetting something somebody else please chime in

Post are pressed into the base-

The Allen screws under the bottom need to be removed, and a light tap on the bearing, will pop it out- yet some kind of Loctite needs to be reapplied to it upon reinsert back in housing-

Superlube from Harbor freight is recommended lube-

Videos on YT under SEB rest show how to adjust the crooked post, different height post, brake adjustment, lubing the plates, etc…

That dead low hammer shouldn’t be over looked when adjusting the cross shaft, & tightening the 2set screws-

Don’t polish the brass guides, or aluminum channels, wipe & apply grease- IMG_2653.jpegall depends on how far ya want to tear it down-
I’ve anodized mine…

Tear down is a winter project-

How about some Beauty shots off your anodized Neo?

I had no idea there were that many pieces and parts! Wow.

Is there a place or someone that does this service?

I would love to get my NEO torn down, cleaned, lubed and put back together and adjusted.

Its seen a lot of use and isnt as smooth as it used to be.

Would gladly pay to send it out to be serviced.

It isn’t that hard, I’ve helped 3 folks over the phone disassemble & put back together…

since I am blind in one eye and cannot see out the other, I did not see the obvious---joystick disassembly successful---now just got to remove the two posts.

Contact Ernie, Dan Ekstorm is our service guy and the only one I would recommend you to fix the seb rests and Joypods.

My experience with folks that want to mess with their joystick rests and rest tops are 90% f**kum up!
Same here.

That is also why I like the wise words: IF it is not broke, don't fix it!

Unless the user really knows about the function of each detail and adjusments and has enough mechahical/technical skills.
Or under assistance of someone that really knows about the rest and how to fix it properly.

Fine adjustment is very sensitive and need to be done correctly/properly to make the rest works as it supossed to be.

Something very easy for someone, it could be very difficult for someone else.

I service SEB & Farley rest. However I am relocating to Oklahoma and looking for a building suitable set up in. Moving all the machinery and support tools will take sometime.

Butch,
Will be in the McLoud area I’m looking in Shawnee and Harrah which are close to my temporary residence. My brother and sister that I hadn’t previously known have convinced me to make the move. At 65 getting a new family I grew up not knowing.
