Finally stretched the legs of my 6BR

I finally made it to an actual shooting range this weekend where I could see what I could do and what my 6BR could do. I was extremely pleased with how it shot. The pic is a 7 shot group at 1000 yards. Weather was great with 10-15 mph winds that would come and go but there was a constant 5-7 mph wind. I was shooting Berger 105 gr. Hybrid Target bullets with 30 gr. of Varget at .010" off the lands, with Lapua brass. I started at 100 yds and went on to 300, 600, 800 and then 1000 yds. I also was able to clean a 5 shot KYL at 600 yds my first try. This 6BR is definitely the easy button for me when it comes to target shooting. And this is the most fun I've ever had shooting!

Could you post the fps?

Great shooting!! Appears you were shooting on the prone target with a 2moa 10 ring. Their is an option for the F-class target, approx 1moa 10 ring available on your shormarker.
Thank you! And I will have to check for the F-class target next time I go. This was my first trip there so I was learning as I went. I would like to try and tighten that group up if possible. It just makes me want to shoot even more!

It is a fever when first shooting 1000yds. Your rifle shoots a tight horizontal. It's all about reading the wind and adjusting for it now. Thats the tricky part. Have fun!!!

It is definitely addictive and I love it! Reading the wind is something I most certainly need to learn. This range is local to me and it is set up very well with wind flags at each target distance. Plus, they have spotters available if needed. Needless to say, I bought a membership there.

I built my first 6 BR for long range about 25 years ago. It was for another shooter, and I decided to test it at a match. I loaded it with Varget and some 107's and damned if I wasn't in first place at the end of the day. I was really impressed with how easy it was to shoot. So easy, in fact, that I carefully avoided it for the next 25 years! This is the kind of obstinance which has carried me through life thus far and is probably the reason my shop isn't cluttered with trophies. WH
