The Cerrakote folks say that one of their products h I have a barreled receiver that is CM and SS. I want it to look like a gloss black. as a gloss.

Butch,

They do have a gloss black cerakote that would probably look pretty good if you are trying for a classic blued look. I have purchased a large bottle of it to coat a british rifle I built in 30-40 Krag, Just haven't gotten around to coating it, But I want it to have a classic look to it that's why I bought the gloss black Cerakote.

But they do make one that looks really good gloss black cerakote. I had it put on my uncles 6.5/55 and it's hard to tell the difference from 2-3 feet away. Once it's in your hands you know it's not blued but it still looks really good especially against a nice piece of high-end Walnut that I put on his.

I believe the cerrakote folks called it the"H"type. It may look good in the wood that I sent to you. Hopefully it will quit being shipped around the World. Now I will need a guy to do the cerrakote on it and 1 other for one of Wyman's rifle.

What rifles are they, How about some pics?

Wyman's is a 6.5PRC on a 700, Shilen trigger, and barrel with a factory wood stock. Mine is a Stiller receiver, Shilen trigger, Shilen barrel, 3 pos safety and a piece of nice walnut from Dave Tooley. No photos yet.
Time to water the flowers so the deer have something to munch on.

Carbon Black is generally what most folks say comes closest to bluing. I have used it on the McSwirly walnut and it looks classy but not bluing, my 2 cents.

I’ve also used DFW Gun Coatings in the warehouse area of north Garland. He does good work.

Butch this what I had done. It looks great with an oiled walnut stock. I will try to get some pictures here soon. I cant believe one got out without some pictures being taken. I just wish I had some of your picture taken skills.
