For sale is a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 24 6-24x rifle scope in excellent condition. This scope has no internal adjustments; the adjustments are made in the mounts, which are included. The adjustments are true target style, micrometer adjustments. The scope is variable power, 6-24x, and is adjustable for parallax from 75 feet to infinity. The scope has a tapered crosshair.
The finish on the scope is awesome, and the only nicks are on the main tube and are completely hidden under the adjustment ring. I moved the ring off its position to photograph the nicks.

This scope is in excellent working condition. The adjustments all work, but are pretty tight. You can feel and hear audible clicks as the adjustment rings rotate, but they do require some pressure. The glass is super clear and sharp. It compares very favorably with Unerl 15x, and to me is brighter and sharper. The Reticle is etched on the glass.
Total pleasure to look through. Metal end caps not present. I do have plastic modern covers on it to protect the lenses.
Very rare to find at all and especially in this condition.

$750 reduced 6/8 shipped Conus

Exceptional condition!

Agreed. IMHO the best of the vintage target scopes, and most expensive. Optically superb for their time.

They are the very best for a Rockchuck long range rifle.

Bump!!
Received some great advice from members on how to get the adjustment mechanism working with less effort. A couple of hours of treatments flushing the mechanism resulted in smooth and easy rotation.
Thank you

What style of bases does the scope clamp to?
These typically used the Lyman/Unertl type bases. I THINK they use the standard style vs the Posa; but I could be wrong. @escopeta would know for sure. Steve Earl manufactures and sell the various bases necessary for various brands of external adjustments scopes.

I don’t really know a 100%. It should fit with the right mounting blocks. The rear mount can slide a few inches in either direction, so you can position it on your rifle.
