6 dasher 411 is worth the trouble

Afternoon everybody
Is it worth the trouble to put a six Dasher onto the pile with all the other calibers that I have already? I shoot F class and by 6.5 x 47 Lapua really does a fine job but I could possibly get into the six Dasher just by buying a reamer. I have all the other supplies needed. Is there anything peculiar to the six Dasher, that would make you not want to mess with it thanks in advance.

Dasher's are awesome and perform very similar to 6.5x47 with less powder and recoil. With 109 Bergers they have slightly less drift at 1k than the average moderate 6.5x47 load shooting 140 Hybrids. Lately I have really been enjoying my 6.5x47 but will be back with the Dasher in the next couple months.. The Dasher is easy to tune but the 6.5x47 may be even easier to keep in tune than the Dasher.

I would choose a dasher over the x47 if I had neither. But if I already had the x47, I would stick with it. I currently run both. In the dasher, I run 109’s with RL16 at 2870-ish. In the x47 I run 130 OTM’s with h4350 at 2930-ish. The 130’s are easier to see impacts and the 109’s burn less powder. Dope is pretty close. Pick your poison.

I want more free bore than that especially if 109 Bergers might be on your short list. .130"-.150". If you're never going to shoot anything heavier than 105's the .105" free bore will work but I'd still prefer more. But a lot of guys shoot .104" and are happy with it.

I can't exactly remember now BUT I had 4 or 5 Dashers and 6.5 x 47s each. I would say the Dasher is "generally" a bit more "consistently" accurate. I have had SUPERBLY accurate rifles in BOTH cartridges. I am not trying to brag BUT I will tell you the most accurate group I had with each. At 600 yards ONE time I was testing primers. It was an 8.5 twist 6.5 x 47, shooting Berger 130 VLDs using RL-15. I can't remember which primer or the exact charge but I THINK it was CCI-BR4s and 36+/- grs of RL-15. I shot a 5 shot group that measure right at 5/8ths of an inch. The Dasher was a Berger 105 VLD and 33.0Grs of VV N540. I can't remember the primer. But I shot a 5 shot group at 1000 yards that was just a "smidgen" over 2.5 inches. It also was a "one time" event. Conclusion: Get either>>>there is no way to go wrong!
