6mm br rem/ 6. Dasher

Good afternoon Can a 6 mm br Remington case be fire formed into a six dasher case?
Is it worth the trouble? this is my first step into the Dasher world, and I had some of the six BR Remington given to me a while back that I never tossed.

Yes they can. Id recommend that you fire form with a false shoulder to make sure the case head is firmly against the bolt face on firing and jamming the bullet into the lands as a secondary insurance. Done this way I get 100% survival of my Lapua 6BR cases formed to Dasher.

You can buy Alpha and maybe others but the necks will be larger diameter and may not work well in a chamber cut with a reamer intended for Lapua 6BR brass.

I wouldnt do it. The 6 Rem BR chamber isn't the same as the 6BR Norma. That brass is smaller at the web. The same animal, but different. Buy 6 dasher brass, which is available.

Now that Dasher brass is available from both Alpha and Peterson, why would anyone want to fireform 6BR?

I use only Lapua brass and have fireformed using a false shoulder and loading long. But recently I have been using hydroformed brass with good results.

What is involved in the hydroforming process? Who’s die set up? Are you using?
