Holeshot 2500X Question

So, I saw a FB post made by Speedy Gonzales over the weekend touting that he has a man there now doing "full blueprinting" on the 2500X action.
My question; is this necessary ? Did your rimfire BR 'smith say he had to do anything to you action before he built the rifle?
Just wondering.

Absolutely not (NO)

Without absolutely knowing….looks like cosmetic stuff.
Those action's are about the only ones, good to go right out of the box,

I will say this thread was not intended to take away from any gunsmith and certainly not to slam any gun smith's work. I am just wondering what seemingly the most popular and winningest action for RF BR might be lacking.

part of my response is sarcastic so please dont blow it out of proportion

I have had supper with speedy, knew him from decades ago when he did bedding blocks for the anschutz 2013

he has done some nice stuff and has good ideas on cosmetic stuff

BUT

this action is well thought out and not sure if anything can be blueprinted on this on

The only thing possible with these is maybe spring tinkering. Some guys trim a coil or so but that’s it…springs are cheap.

Jerry has a website and has discussed in great detail how some of the design features were developed and the immense testing that was used and the results of various mynute changes and their benefits

he also goes into why other desgns did not work or will not work

Me. Stiller is a genius and the 2500X is the pinnacle of rimfire designs at present and perhaps for decades to come


WADR speedy is good at centerfire and some rimfire bedding issues he has helped solve BUT that is it

his knowledge and skill level are not even close on this one
and yes speedy is in the centerfire hall of fame and a pretty good shot in centerfire

There, from all who have gone down the rimfire rifle perfection journey, is nothing second class about Jerry Stiller and the superb rimfire actions he has made. I've dealt with his CF actions and they are the good stuff. Every dealing I have had with Mr. Stiller has been great.
Right now my Lonestar 2500 RBLP with Shilen Ratchet is shooting as well as anything out there especially with my limited experience and ability. It's even managed a win or two at our club match.
