6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser

The high or low front sight was determined by the Brass Stock Disk and/or the upside down red and white range decal (cracked, peeled, or worn away with time) on the right side of the stock near the butt!! The Overslag (Hold Over) number (or no stamped number) determined the front sight height or some cross mark stamp on the blade!!
I think the front sight I made for myself and a few others was higher, (?) as the guns were shooting way high at 100 yds with the original sight height. I wanted to hit what I was aiming at without holding over or under. If I recall correctly, my Swede was a Husky, and I paid about $100 for it sometime in the early 80's.

LUCK DOG!!!
The Huskies were built with the higher blade!!! 14,080 M96 built from 1942-1945 WITH ONLY ONE RIFLE PRODUCED IN 1942 (SN 695810) AND ONE IN 1945 (SN 698,649)!! 83,586 Husky M38 built in 1941 - 1944!!! The M/41 ball round was developed in 1941!!! Most service rifles prior to 1941 either had the front blade sight changed and/or got the upside down range sticker decal!!!

Here's the info on the cross marked blades!!! Out to 600 meters using the slide ramp rear sight, use the blade tip!!! Past 600 meters, unfold the rear leaf, use the cross mark!!!!
