New Sierra Hunting Bullet

Sierra, in my experience, has always made great bullets that gave me excellent accuracy and terminal performance (hunting). The 85 BTHP 6mm bullet is the best I ever shot in the 243 Win over the last 50+ years. At one time they ruled the competitive scene.

The problem with Sierra is availability, at least over the past 5 years. Prior to that, I could always get what I wanted, when I wanted, without having to stock a large inventory. This forced me to move on to other brands. It seems somewhere around 2019 or so they placed reloaders at the bottom of their priority list. They have a lot of ground to make up if they want me back as an on-going customer.

Rather than adding a "new" bullet, I hope they increase production on the existing bullets, so they are more readily available. I just had to vent.

Yeah, as @K22 said, they need to make available the bullets that they already produce.

I have yet to see any of the 25 caliber, 110gr Tipped GameKings.
Or the 7mm, 140gr TGK.

And both have been "out" for what, 3 years now?

It had better be something special to compete with all the goood bullets out there. About 25 years ago I called them about poor performance and jacket shedding on their hunting bullets. They were quite dismissive and told me that target bullets were the big seller and hunting bullets were only a minor part of the business. Well, now other target bullets are better and I bet they still don't have a superior hunting bullet.

Wow. A member sees a announcement on a new product and makes a post that turns into a bash session. And no one has even shot them....
I don't hunt anymore, so I have no need for a hunting bullet, but really....
No one is bashing Sierra, only giving their opinions.
Many like Sierra products and many have not had good luck with them.

Killed lots of deer with Sierras. The Gamechanger proved to be a little tougher than their others. Little expansion, less damage than ABs. Don't use them in my handguns, but their 220 gr. RN is my #1 bullet in my .300 Whisper. Killed 120 deer with it out to 240 yds. subsonic.

Be nice if they would fill their current offerings in all calibers- and offer current bullets in their loaded ammo to reloaders..

I really like Sierra bullets. However, they have seemed to price themselves above their competitors. There's also the issue with finding them. If they were priced similar to Hornady and available, I'd buy them.
If Hornadys shot like Sierras I would shoot Hornadys. One exception is Hornady Spire Points for hunting, any caliber.I have never had an issue finding Sierras.

That's my point! It gets turned into a vote(I call it bashing) whatever you want to call it. Im out. Hit the unwatch or ignore button and I'm moving on

They are much better product than Hornady and they know it and not much price difference.

I have and load them all.every brand you can think of except the small batch super expensive stuff and shot game with most

I normally pick what shoots best in my rifles but sierra bullets have always been quick kills for me.

Is it me or are they a little late to the game? Military and police have been using ammo loaded with match king bullets for a long time and Sierra has always listed there match king line not be used for hunting. Should have come out with these a while ago
