@boltfluter - what style do you call the tight twisted one on the right?
He calls that style Tac. I’m guessing it’s 6 flutes so if I’m right on the count it would be a Tac 6. The other is his Vortex.@boltfluter - what style do you call the tight twisted one on the right?

On a good hunting rifle I have not seen a negative change as far as Paul's fluting goes. I did one not long ago that had previously been chambered and shot a fair amount so I knew what it could do. Fast forward after doing some aggressive Vortex fluting and adding a supressor it shoots as well or maybe better than ever. Hardly even a POI change. Now would I do it on any sort of BR rifle? Probably not.If any type of accuracy is involved, wouldn’t it be best to do all of that extreme fluting and then have the blank drilled, reamed, and rifled?
