I like keeping the crows away on the farm. Hate em actually. Been shooting them a long time. Shot em w just about everything over the years. Up until now my favorite has been the 204 w 39gr bk. Also had really good explosions w 6mm br and 60gr sierra hp. This winter ive been using a .243 AI w 70gr sierra blitzkings and all i can say is OMG! They explode. Im talking pieces flying guys. Very powerful, to me anyways. You guys shoot any ? Heres a few.

I don't shoot many as they are pretty wary around here. Although l have shot them with handgun and rifle. Years ago I took a shot at one that was about 1/2 mile away. I got lucky and drilled it, I was shooting my old 220 Swift. It was so far away it just left a bullet size hole through the crow.

Nice......I've never seen a good crow that wasn't dead.....Your picture is of an extremely good crow.....Lol.
Thank you. Me neither. Lol ive got 18 this winter. Shot many w 222 w 50gr sx as a kid growing up (788). Worked good. Id have to say the sierra blitzkings have always been the most explosive in any caliber for me. The 60gr sierra hp really blows em also. Ive been a “bullet tester” since i was a kid. Lol

If i had 5$ for everyone that flew right before i shot i cld get myself another leupold scope. Swear they can feel the crosshairs. I thought i turned this place into a no fly zone w this rifle? Lol but they just keep a coming. Ill stay on then.

The only animal I ever blew up was a possum. Gut shot it. It's gut was filled with thousands of worms. I guess I put it out of it's misery.

I like the Sierra 60 gr and 70 gr BKs in my sixes.

We have been hunting crows over a caller with shotguns. Once they hit the field they lay there, nothing wants to eat a dead crow!

I have shot a bunch with my 5mm Sheridan and will always remember the first one I shot with my 222 BDL, cut in half. Once I was moving to another spot woodchuck hunting with my 22-250 and spooked some crows that where pretty close and snap shot one on the ground and figured I missed as it got up and started to fly away. He fell out of the sky at about 50 feet in altitude. I guess that old 60 grain Hornady penciled right through and he bled out :)

The only foul I have seen explode was when a friend shot a field lark on a PD trip. He was using a 40X 222 Spear TNT. The largest piece was the lower beak and a 1" square of the throat. I never would have believed that muxh dammage from a 222 if I had not have seen it.

I may or may not have exploded a few crows and ground hogs with my Savage 110 in 30-06 when I was younger.
If I had I would comment that a 165gr Ballistic Tip leaves nothing but feathers drifting in the wind.
Catching a ground hog standing at it's hole leaves about half a ground hog laying about 5' from it's hole.
