Any rimfire barrel makers coming to the market ?

I hear rumors ! but guess we will have to wait and see . I am hoping to see different rifling type to help with shooting Long range 22LR . and special bullets to match .

My question is why would anyone bother to develop new long range rimfire stuff when there are literally a hundred various small caliber cartridges out there. You can already reload a centerfire cheaper than buying really premium rimfire ammo.
Where ya been?? Long range 22LR is gettin to be the big thing. I don't doubt that 1000 yds is on the horizon for these guys. jd

I think 22 rimfire is more limited to the case than a new rifling or bullet design.
They already have tried different multiple groove barrels and different multiple twist.
Most are running subsonic for long range now or just over.
You've got so much drop and drift to worry about first.
It's the new hotness, so they want to sell more barrels and people will by them.
Look at the couple attempts to make faster or a better bullet, most have fallen
flat on their face. So far...

Have you done any fast twist comparisons to 16- 16.5 ?

with the Long Gong Challenge really getting hot someone is going to figure out how to gain get a slight edge over the competition . since no reloading is involved its barrel , ammo, tuners and other tricks or secrets that are not talked about . I know fast twist and fast ammo is not the ticket to winning Long Gong . I just wished the ammo makers would make the high dollar ammo more consistent . trying some Lapua Long Range out at 250 yards and a couple of times bullet would hit low in dirt looked at chrono and 958 fps ! that will wreck a good match when that happens !

I am seeing a trend since ammo shortage of ammo consistency getting worse ! wonder if machines are getting worn or ? or is it just me ?

From what I've read and learned (a little) Eley has fallen out of favor with
a lot of shooters lately.
Lapua has maintained it or slightly improved some.
That's why you see Lapua flying off the shelf anytime it's in stock
and Eley is pretty much everywhere.
It comes down to lot numbers for what will and won't shoot in YOUR rifle.
And what shoots well at 50 or 100 yds. might or might not shoot well at 200-300
Test and verify is the only way.
The higher price rimfire ammo is usually more consistent than cheaper stuff.
A friend just won a local match with a special lot of Center X that over 20 rounds
had a ES of 7.8 and it's not one of those high end builds. (Voodoo or RimX)
P.S. I had better luck with the Super long range than just the Long range.

Competition rules that mandate 22LR.

Also among rimfire only 22LR comes in match grades. And I think the other options like 17hmr are getting worse.

I apologize if my ammo question diverted from topic. Soooo how about this. -- Has anyone determined the length of barrel that optimizes maximum velocity of the "sanctioned" ammo without becoming a negative influence. (as in too long) jd
