That's a shame. It will be interesting to here how long reimbursement takes.Don't give up hope. It took them 30 days to deliver a high tools air gun to me from a couple hundred miles.

Just from my personal experience.

For the last several months, package delays are pretty common. Some taking 4-8 weeks to get to their destination. I have had several packages seem to stop for a vacation somewhere between my house and destination. AGAIN just my personal experience. Once I filed a lost package search all of them terminated their Vacation and arrived safely at desired destination within 5 or 6 days.
One other observation. AGAIN just my personal experience. If the Post Office DECLARES the package LOST, which has only happened to me twice EVER, I have had a check in my hands in less than SEVEN DAYS for the full amount (Sold Price) it was insured. I did have to copy the post showing it was sold and for how much.
I know a lot of members have had different experiences with the PO, but I do ship a FEW packages every year. This is JUST my personal experience with the PO.
NOW a damaged package is a WHOLE different EXPERIENCE. LOL
Safe shooting and good luck with your packages
Doug

One other note: I file the claim, and I issue a refund the minute the PO Declares package LOST

Good luck. aA friend of mine put in a claim for a lost package. in 2023. 2023 and has not got his money or the paxckage. The usps S U C K S .

I filed a claim on line for the basic $100 and got it in a couple weeks. I did a search request first. I called the PO number, waited for over an hour on hold, had to use 3 phones to stay connected. lady was nice, helped me file the claims. package was delivered 2 days before i got the check.

If you got a claim paid in 7 days, you were fortunate. Two years ago I had a package lost in March. After two denials and appeals, I received a refund 5 months later. The only reason I got that was the fact that I filed a 'theft/fraud' complaint with the USPS, naming the USPS as the party who defrauded me. They sold me a product, in this case insurance, with the postage, and refused to perform on the contract. I was called by a postal inspector requesting that I drop the complaint. I promptly told him to piss off. I had the refund about a week later. I have ZERO patience with the USPS.

Go talk to your local Postmaster where you mailed the parcel. You will need the receipt; it is his job to help you.

'theft/fraud' complaint with the USPS and getting the Postal Inspectors involver is a great idea. They have no sense of humor!

I sold a scope and shipped it USPS Priority Mail with plenty of insurance. It arrived with tire tracks over the package. The buyer wisely took it to his local post office where they opened it and documented the damage with pictures.

I refunded the buyer his money quickly. From that point, it was a 10 month paper work fist fight to get USPS to pay the claim. The biggest issue was value. It was a NIB scope that hadn't been made since the early 2000's and the claim was denied multiple times based on the fact that a value couldn't be determined. I supplied facts on prices from sales on ebay and Guns International to support my claim. Then they veered into it being a 'firearm' rather than a scope.

In the end, it worked out and the claim was paid. Persistenence pays.

Good shootin' :) -Al

I've been told, by our local USPS, that "they" aren't responsible for deliveries, whether it being packages or letters.

File the claim online, provide the original receipt, or make a receipt between you and the buyer and provide that. I’ve filed 3 claims and all were paid within a week of filing. These were lost items, not damaged.

Was supposed to be delivered February 10 just got to the state it supposed to be delivered
Sounds like it's eventually going to make it.

I recently shipped a $2000 item and it sat at the first hub(my state) it made it to for 3 weeks...I filed a missing mail form and the next day it made it to the hub in the state that it was supposed to go and sat there for another 2 weeks before finally being delivered. They ended up firing about 5 postal management people at the first hub which is in my state. Things are not good for the USPS.

Years ago I mailed a trigger and a MO for $85. USPS lost it. When I told them, they charged me $7 to look for something they lost. After 60 days I got my $85 but the trigger was just lost.
