The tech at A&D told me that just having it plugged in, it is in ready warmed mode, then turning it on it should be ready to go.
My balance purchased with the super trickler has always been rock solid but the last two sessions it is drifting as much as 0.15 grains between throws. Having to re-zero every time and when checked against my old balance getting 0.1+ grain difference.
thanks for the tip, im hooking a ground wire to the back onto my conduit. I wondering though, if this helps the operation of the scale, why dont the scale plug have a ground wire on it?? seems it should.I ran a heavy ground wire to a ground rod that I drove 3' into the floor after I drilled a hole in my concrete floor. All problems stopped and has been rock solid for several years. I have always found grounding problems with electronic equipment. Worth a try.
Mine drifts when the furnace blower is running, no vents in the garage so it is not air disturbance so it's either power related or magnetic field issues.
Pretty sure the FZ is mostly the same as the FX, I have the FX but I think below would apply same for both.
If you want to isolate away from the ST, power it off and completely disconnect the ST from the scale and don't use any of those ST cables. Now use your FX120i power cable to test the balance for drift.
Just remember to put that FX120i power cable away after done testing, don't want to mix it and the ST power cables up as they have opposite polarity!
If you don't see the issue, then maybe it's the ST power cable.
If you do see the issue then you know it's either environmental related, power conditioning, or some issue with the FX120i but not related to the ST or its power cable.
These balances are designed to be in use or standby all the time, I put mine in standby when done with it and it might sit for days or weeks. My power is pretty good and the room is conditioned for both temp/humidity so I generally don't see drifting, but I did notice some after a power-on (post power outage) and it had been on for an hour or more. That said it quickly settled in and no more drift seen.
Glad I’m not the only one!I think the extra warm up time might be a good idea too, seems more settled after being turned on for a while. This scale has been too big of an investment for me to take the chance of leaving it on all the time.
can you post a link to the one you have please?I've been running a APC Line Conditioner since I got my 2 charge masters and both my A&D scales and I run all led lighting in my shop (older shop lights with tubes have ballasts that can cause issues with scales)
I've never had a drifting problem with my scales.
can you post a link to the one you have please?
thanks
I use this to protect the expensive stuff—balance, autotrickler— it’s been good and the battery backup means you can keep loading if the utility power cuts off, mine flickers sometimes, battery is ~10 years old still going fine. All Products & Services | APC USA
