Rem 700+Richards stock.

I have a 700 223 action that shoots bugholes so I decided I am going to install it in a Richards microfit laminated benchrest stock and see what it can do with my Seb MiniX rest.

First thing is the bedding, I think I am going to use aluminum pillars. Second thing is the stock is a 40X stock so I may need some kind of ramp for loading ammo.

Are the adjustable pillars any good or am I better with the one piece ones?

Im sure guys have done this in the past, so what are they using for a ramp?

The adjustable pillars as sold by Score High work well. Once you determine the length you want, you epoxy the threaded halves together. I make my own pillars to length so they're covered with bedding material against the receiver.

For a single shot follower, the PTG one works well. It's contoured on the bottom to roughly follow the contour of the receiver. It can be epoxied into the receiver or held in place with a piece of foam from underneath if the stock has a magazine well cut. If the stock is solid, the follower can be epoxied into the stock so the receiver just drops over it. The Davidson/Sinclair versions are good ones too...they're flat on the bottom.

The Score High followers are designed to go on top of the factory follower and mag spring set up.
