“Tactical” 30-30 build / Deep South Tactical

These are getting popular down south !
This one was built by Deep South Tactical in Pelahatchie MS. I did the coating work . All KG Industries Nano coating . Like them or think it’s an ambition

Actually I think that thing is pretty bitchin! I have seen some cool lever guns just coming out that are really thinking outside the box. I'm a bolt gun guy, But that's pretty cool, Nice work on the Cerakote.

Well......well......I won't say I don't like it and it is most definitely different. Sure ain't no cowboy gun anymore. I like the paint for sure. Being an old fart but open minded (sorta), I'll give it a thumbs ups. I do like different.

I love the fact that the younger guys have saved the lever action from dyeing completely, and I certainly respect that the guns belong to you and you can do with them as you please. And I can see the effort that went into this gun, and it's a beautiful gun. I have held an image in my mind for many, many years of what the perfect lever gun is. It's a long barreled (maybe octagon) rifle with a full magazine and case colors that are very bright, highly polished very deep blue, and walnut with lots of figure. Of course this gun would be too beautiful and expensive to ever shoot. I guess my opinions don't have to make sense. A picture that has been in my mind for so long it may never change. I rescued my buddy Steve's Winchester 30-30 that had been in a wet soft gun case for 6 or 7 weeks after the house got trashed by a hurricane. I sand blasted it twice (not glass beads) because it has some much rust and pits. It got KG gun coated OD green and the wood went back natural. One of the most accurate 30-30s I've ever shot. Steve dies in his 40s at a baby shower and 2 ER nurses were there and could not save him. He had given me the rifle years before and I gave it back to his son. I imagine its under his bed cover in dust.

I agree. I close my eyes and see color case hardening and at least a little bit of figure in the stock, usually a tang sight.

It's a picture that makes me happy.
This picture made me feel a bit ill!;)
I appreciate all the effort you put into it, and I'm sure it works great.
To each their own....
