A good day for the Republic

Another great day for the Republic.

I have a somewhat different view from some here. Age does that to a guy. I like, everyone here, am glad for a change. Common sense is the theme of the day. I hope and pray that carries through to the practice of governing and legislating. For sometime my concern and despair is the hate we have shown for each other. I hated 46's policies. I hated we did not know who was running the country. I hated the deception we all saw. I did not hate the man. That man for better or worse represented half the country. Those people are my neighbors, friends, my fellow Americans. So I wish him nothing but sunny days, playing with his grand children on the beach. That chapter in history has been written. We have more pressing issues to address.
To 47 Don't look back, it's time to look forward. Vengeance is selfish. Success is the best revenge. Success is best for everyone.

I've been watching this morning, and I agree completely Dave. It's time to look forward and come together. My Lord forbids me to hate ANYONE, and commands me to love EVERYONE. I'm not exactly an expert on this, but I haven't had a fist fight yet this month.

If I had been at the ceremony today I would have been openly weeping with joy and feeling. We've got to realize that there are folks who feel exactly the opposite -- and we want to change their hearts. We don't have to beat them up, we've already won. Now is time to win them over. Many of them are our kids and grand kids for God sake. jd

Well said. My sister is one of those. She posted on some social media site (I don't get involved with social media but my wife follows FB...) that "he is not my President". Said the same thing 8 years ago. She and my brother-in-law lived in Mexico for almost 10 years, which begs the question I want to ask but won't: Did you renounce your U.S. citizenship? Are you now in the U.S. as Mexican ex-pats?

Unfortunately, she is one who will never believe that anything good can happen from 47's presidency, and when it does, will never give him credit.
