Boelube 70104-04 - My new favorite cutting oil

Speedy mentioned this stuff in one of his videos. I'm a sucker for shiny objects and got some. It's really nice. Kind of a low viscosity and wipes off the hands very easily. It's made of "cosmetic" ingredients, so I feel a lot better about it on my skin, etc. Leaves a beautiful finish. I did a chamber with it and it was among the best. I've drilled, reamed, sawed, reamed, etc. A little goes a long way. I really like it.

If you want a half ounce bottle I'll send one for a few bucks to cover shipping.

Oh wait! Scratch that, I’ve been using BoeShield T9. I’ll have to check the lube out.

With pressure system or old fashioned lube, clean, lube, repeat?

Old fashioned way. I used my flush for the roughing and boelube for the finish reamer. At 250 a gallon it's a little spendy to fill my tank with... but I want to.

I use the T9 as cutting oil for my bandsaw blade; works well applied with a brush.
That stuff dries like some sort of wax, and doesn't wipe off my CAT40 tool holders
easily, which I use for rust prevention. Been using Acetone to wipe it off.

Interesting. I'm not sure which one you were using, but the stuff I use has almost no odor. Like I said it mostly mineral oil.

The stuff I have might be different - dark cutting oil. The sulfur smell is annoying. It never leaves the shop, which is my main problem with it. For chambers the astroswiss oil works great. I just called out the boelube for other stuff because it's easy to clean up, no smell, wipes off the hands easily.

I think you are thinking of the dark Rigid. This is almost clear.

It sounds like lanolin.

I’ve got a gallon of the dark Rigid sulphur stuff that I just cracked into…once it’s gone, I’m going to try something else. It’s not just the shop but my clothes too, my wife has now designated shop clothes because she cannot wash them with other stuff.

On the plus side, I bet I’d never deal with chiggers :p

I don’t have a flush system yet but it’ll likely come at the same time, I guess I’ve put it off too long.
