Favorite 22lr hunting ammo

The only subsonic HP I have found shoot real good is eley subs. The can be hard to find a lot of times in the area. Overall there aren’t many ammo manufacturers that make subsonic HP.
Why not standard velocity, though? It is a lot easier to find.

Because subsonic hollow points work very well on squirrels. And since they work well and I run a suppressor, it helps keep the noise down when shooting in the woods so it is what I prefer to run.

Stacy , do you ever get to try the early power points , this the late 1980's
They were great. The newer points points aren't much unless the put in new machines recently.

Yes the ones in the orange and yellow box?

Dear Johnnyofalltrades , my sentiments exactly . This is like the cz 527 fantastic rifles, the trigger is two stage . they stopped it. I have other 527's I want but that more month than money gets old. Then helene come to visit, I live in Henderson county, we got hurt
Buncombe county got destroyed.
They are still looking for remains .
We have roads that are be repaired in later part of 2025. I am not faulting
D.O.T. they have their hands full.
Johnny, Google chimney rock park this will take years to recuperate.
Sorry Johnny go on a ramble. The other one was when Winchester went from 64's to post 64's . Then another one Remington 788's . I heard was competing with the 700's , and stopped production. I want the sako 78's Winchester 52's, I hope the Remington custom shop comes back , and leupold custom shop.
Johnny , I have a lot of wants and wishes , I hope to get part of them , and very ,very happy and thankful to have a home after helene.
Johnny , hope to meet you someday.

Oh the sad loss of the Cz 527. I wanted a fullstock in .22 Hornet and .221 fireball. They were running around $600 at the time. I bought something else on my list and put the 527 in the on deck circle. First to go were all the chamberings I was interested in, then the Fullstock dropped. Then the whole line. I did find a gently used 527 American in .22 Hornet but it sure wasn’t a fullstock. CZ really lost the classier stuff in their line up in search of updating. In long guns they really lack anything I want now. When the daughter took over the reigns of CZ from the old man all these changes for modernization happened. They lost what I liked, old world class and charm.

These are two of my favorites. My CZ's love them. They do shoot the subsonic slightly better but the HV's do very well. It seems they are pretty hit and miss for availability but I see Creedmoor Sports is showing both in stock. When did they get so spendy?! HV's for almost $15 per box! I bought three bricks of HV's from SG Ammo a few years back for something like $27.50/brick!! I wish I would have bought a case. Thankfully I still have two bricks of HV left but only 4 boxes of subs's.
