im currently using the hornady digital calipers. im curious is it worth it to upgrade to a higher end set or are these fine. and if so what set do you recommend? thanks in advance

It depends on how annal you are with your reloading.if your loading for hunting or shooting at the gravel pit with some friends it’ll be fine but if your competing in matches ( just my opinion) I would upgrade to a better one.

Be careful on Amazon.... they can be fake.

I have no basis to say the Hornady is inferior, but if you want to upgrade thats exactly what I'd buy and where I'd get it.

Counterfeit Mitutoyo Calipers

Purchased Mitutoyo on Amazon and found the set is fake. I called Mitutoyo helped verify and they said they can't stop it... some of the Mitutoyo sold on Amazon are real... anyway these fakes look good but are NOT real. Be careful.

I work in an ISO manufacturing environment and we have to get our mics, calipers, depth mics, etc calibrated and certified yearly. They will not certify or calibrate digital mics or calipers...if that gives you any indication of their quality or accuracy....

I was a machine shop supervisor for 40+ years. Whenever a critical dimension on a critical part was off when measured with a digital measuring device someone would go get a mechanical measuring device to double check it. Digital will get you close.
