I do believe in Captain Crunch.
How do you think the glass compares to the EPL?It's here and so far impressive. Will mount and bore site it in the A M and get it zeroed @ 100 yds. asap as well.

Cant really tell. It was already dark here when UPS drove up with it. Will check it out in the A M and report. How do you think the glass compares to the EPL?
Dang, I missed that drop off again. I just need to post up at you and Grahams for a little longer.Cant really tell. It was already dark here when UPS drove up with it. Will check it out in the A M and report.
Just got the scope aligned on the tall target line @ 100 yd. target. Buttoned everything up and ready to bore site. Did not shoot it yet but looking at the glass and trying to decide on quality of it and honestly it appears to be as described by Arken E D (japanese glass) I own the L H series and the EPL-4 (both 6 X 24 X 50) as well as other EP-5 5 X 25 X 56 scopes and have looked at the SH4-J 6 X 24 X 56 glass. All the glass I have looked at compared to the 8 X 25 X 50 Leupolds I owned prior to purchasing Arken scopes have been better. It seems as if Arken may have stepped up the game as advertised with this new 7 X 35 X 56.How do you think the glass compares to the EPL?
What height rings are they?Got it setting in the rings. Will align it plumb @ 100 yd. target in the A M. Could have went with a lower ring but it's O K.
I will soon. Trying to get rid of this crud.Well Bill. Go shoot the darn thing!![]()
Apologies for more questions. Just trying to parse this out as I'm ready to buy something in the arken lineup.Just got the scope aligned on the tall target line @ 100 yd. target. Sorry, have not done a side by side comparison yet but I believe Arken did step up the quality in the 7 X 35 scope. With higher powered zoom better glass is always required for good resolution. Some have stated in videos that other than the power the 7 X 35 is the exact same scope as the 5 X 25 but I have read otherwise literature by folks closer to Arken and Arken as well. They have published and included a new improved owner's manual describing the new scope.Apologies for more questions. Just trying to parse this out as I'm ready to buy something in the arken lineup.
Does the new EP-5 7x35x56 has better glass than the EPL-4 6x24x50?
Buy that thing! These are really decent scopes for the $$ we love ours!I seen also Arken had a price increase, looks like the 7-35 is no longer less than $600 from Arken, but online retailers still has them at that price. Wonder if it would be a good idea to buy a couple at the low price or will there always be a sale or discount on them ??? I know where a new one is on the shelf at a lgs for $570
Well I did. $575 out the door. Would rather had moa but it must have sold this weekBuy that thing! These are really decent scopes for the $$ we love ours!
I have some better scopes but that 7-35 is the Sweet spot for what you get vs what you pay!
Yea this 7 X 35 definitely is a lot of scope for the $$$.Buy that thing! These are really decent scopes for the $$ we love ours!

I know. I have both. What I have noticed though with arkens reticles is their subtensions, they are broken down in .5 moa and .5 mil. There is a huge difference between the two if I did my math right as far as holding for wind like I usually do. At 500 yards .5 moa is 2.61 VS .5 mil which is 9”. That’s if I’m right on their reticle and my mathMil is the same as moa. An angular adjustment. Just dialing a different number. Set your ballistic program to mils and go. It’s simple.

But even if .5 mils in the reticle you can steal break down to .1 for a hold. It’s about practicing with it. I hold wind to and no issues with a reticle with .5 mil mark. I’ll do holdovers and wind holds too.
