Clickers in 284 win

Sorry about the delay in a reply but was locked out of the forum for 3 months for apparently posting a link to a fraudulent/SPAM site when I was trying to be helpful… No warning, no appeal…. {:~/
To your question, yes, the case lengthened just slightly but only needed me to readjust the bump on the die to get back to what I wanted.
The instructions with the Rollsizer mention that this can occur, 5 loads now and still not having to trim yet…
Definitely will fix a clicker problem… F Class John recently {within the past week or so} posted his own review of the product.
I am also hoping that as a side benefit it will slow down primer pocket expansion and thus extend the life of the brass...
The Roll Sizer won't solve primer pockets expanding mate.

That is also what they claim though they do mention in the instructions that come with the device that there seems to be some anecdotal evidence that it helps slow the condition if starting off with new brass and use the Rollsizier @ time it is reloaded.
Time will tell, but so far as resolving the "Clicker" issue I was having it definitely is a cure.
I first saw the early version and had a long talk with the manufacturer as primer pockets came to mind right away and he told me then that NO, it does NOT size the case head and shrink the pockets, just the area up from the extractor groove and past the 200 line. At the time the Rollsizer was only being made for pistol cartridges and I think .308 Win.
The new Universal version is aimed at the rifle cartridge market though it too will also do pistol brass as well.
If you have a problem with "Clickers" and your budget will allow... This is a useful tool to add to your loading bench.

Using Peterson Brass and Whidden Non-bushing dies. I just fired them for the 7th time. I anneal every firing and size only enough to bump the shoulders 2 thou everytime. Never had clickers/heavy bolt lift with this load before. I'm using an Impact action and it has a significant catch right before the bolt comes all the way up. Is this something I should get into contact with Whidden about? I don't want to just band-aid the issue and would rather have a more permanent fix.

The load I'm using is 49.2 grains of H4350 under a 180 grain berger hybrid. With my 26" barrel I'm getting right at 2710 fps. It has never been a hot load in my rifle, no ejector marks, cratering, or overly excessive case head expansion.
See below: from Rope2horns in this thread.
I am using a Whidden die also for my .284 Shehane. I polished out the back end with a "Norton 01727 Gray Norton Wool Pad" from Amazon (about 2"x.6") affixed to a nylon chamber brush in a batt. drill motor. I ran it in and out about 3/4" for less than 5 min. and that took care of my problem. My issue was somewhat more critical than clickers so this fix ought to work for you.

Peterson brass has been know to help induce them clikkers at least in my experience.
Once i stopped using Peterson they never came back with Lapua or Norma for that matter.
I find Peteson too hard to size back enough after a firing or two....but the 2nd one confirmed it..
It was toast as far as im concerned for my application...tossed em all in the recycle bucket.
