Bragging a Bit -- Deer Success at age 85

OK so I am bragging a lot! I walked carefully to my stand this morning after seeing several deer running around. Got set up and fogged my cold bino’s, but did see horns at 150 yards. Looked through the 7-08 AI Rimmed scope and ascertained he had horns and was about to run after the does. Needed to drop him instantly, and the Hart barreled stubbed Encore did it’s job. I had gotten the tractor/loader and the hind legs skinned by the time my son got there. No sense of making a big job out of this! Not a trophy but is is for me, I am 85.

Congrats young man! Keep up the good work.

I only have you by one year. I am 86 and still go deer/bear hunting each year. Must admit it is really getting hard to drag a field dressed deer a average of 1/4 mile to my Jeep, but I still do it.
Wife and kids don't like me going out alone as I do, but my neighbor knows where I hunt and would come to check on me, if I don't get back home, on intended time.
I like to still hunt and stump sit more now days, as my walking is not a steady as when I was younger, iether.

Bill K, I built a hunting shack last year and only have to stagger about 50 yards to it. I tell my Granddaughter I'll be around for 14 more years to see my Great Granddaughter (Masie Mae) turn 16 and drive her parents crazy. They both deserve it! Granddaughter got a very nice 8 point yesterday and the Masie Mae apple didn't fall far from the tree. Life is good!
