TackDriver scopes used

I didn't want to derail @jimmymac thread so I'll ask this here.

For those that have been to one of the TD events, what scope did you use and how did it do?

It seems the scope choice would be a big factor to consider for this particular range. What scopes are the most likely to be able to see when the mirage gets up? I think I read where Tim was something less than impressed with his 8-80x Majesta.

Will a larger diameter scope tube be able to do better, say a 34mm vs 30mm?

Also, for the LRBR folks, what are the favorites today?

Thanks!

You'll probably find most were using a NF Comp. Clean targets, you''ll
put it on high. Hazy, down around 40. The ignorant white blob scenario
that's dancing around, you'll be cranking to 30 and sometimes much lower.
Shot a 300 yard UBR with my March 10-60 High Master. That last target
was so bad, I just kept cranking down until I could at least bracket it. When
I did the final barrel cleaning, I notice I was down around 18 power to shoot
those last couple of bulls.

This is the most important thing being able to see

I have been to all the TD's except #2. I bought a sightron ssved 34mm for the first one and it does a decent job.
You can make out 6mm holes 95% of the time the dot is just a little too big

This year I was all excited to try a MAJESTA it was going to be the majic wand for Orangeburg in my mind anyway.
It was far from it. It is about as good as the SSVED at seeing soupy bullet holes for $1000 more
I gripped and complained about the MAJESTA for days and still am. BUtttt i guess it wasnt all bad
when turned down to 45ish power I could still see bullet holes on the last target of the day. It was a gosh awful nasty soupy thing BUT I could see the holes

The glass is a biggggg deal

Thanks, Tim. That's the kind of info I was hoping for.

Is you Majesta the 30 or 34mm tube model?

i shot the NF 12-42. I couldn't see bullet holes on 50% of my targets this year. I shot the same scope last year, and could see them all.

When all the clouds are in Florida, and zero in South Carolina, it going to be tough no matter what scope you have.
