I have 3 and one starts with an 0 and ends with a B. All of mine are Marked US above the serial number and one is based on the old 722 receiver and not like the other 2 that are based on the 700. Are you sure that it is stainless?

I also have a stainless single shot 40 X in which the serial number starts in 0 and ends with a B. Mine came to me as a worked over action with a PTG coned bolt, so I know nothing about it’s origins.

For questions about the custom shop and the 40X go on Facebook and look up both Wade or Don Haponski. A father and Son that retired from Remington. They are very Knowledgeable.

Mine has no marking above the serial number. it had a 6mm barrel on it, so I had it rechambered and it shoots really nice.
