Henderson bought and worked with Forster for those parts, Hornady just took a design, made a few changes and then said “this type of trimming can only be found in a factory”. It’s not nearly the same at all.WHAT?!!!!!!
Oh the outrage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can we even think of buying from someone who was stealing part of his machine from another company?!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ironic sarcasm)
I stopped doing business with Hornady after they ripped off the 6.5x47 design for their "totally new" 6.5 Creedmoor....... shameless.Henderson bought and worked with Forster for those parts, Hornady just took a design, made a few changes and then said “this type of trimming can only be found in a factory”. It’s not nearly the same at all.
Its even RED!
You mean one of these? Circa late 1970's
Made by I think Propes out of Greenville SC
Hell I made a few.
LeeI like it! That handle and linkage looks familiar
Chinese marketing!! OUR COPY IS THE BEST ONE.
You actually mean he worked with Forster to get a better price on what he wanted.Henderson bought and worked with Forster for those parts, Hornady just took a design, made a few changes and then said “this type of trimming can only be found in a factory”. It’s not nearly the same at all.
You mean when you order in bulk you get a cheaper price? You actually mean he worked with Forster to get a better price on what he wanted.
Henderson: Uses Forster cutter and collets = pays Forster for them.
Hornady: Uses Henderson design, makes a few changes = Neither Henderson or Forster get anything
Not the same at all.
It has to do with integrity and not even trying to work with the original designer.Changes = not the same product. Similar design. Do you really want to go into that rabbit hole of all the products in the history of our sport, or otherwise, that started that way and we all use without a second thought? Or just keep being mad at Hornady? LOL

Where do you draw the line?
As mentioned previously MDT has worked with others and Hornady could have done the same. Instead they chose the year of the Chinese knock off.
So what kick back do you get from Hornady?Who says they have to work with the original designer when they make changes to better a design? No one because they don't. It's people on the internet with no idea of how to run a business telling an American company who has been in business 75 years how they should do things. It's not a Chinese knock off either. It's Hornady's product they put out. Buy it or don't but getting on a high horse over one product is just ridiculous and typical internet.

You didn’t answer the question, where do you draw the line?
Considering the product will most certainly be made in China, it’s a Chinese knock off.
