Scope base help requested!

As I posted elsewhere, I finally,( after 2 years+) was able to get into my reloading room and started to clean it out! I found a Uberti 1885 Hi-Wall in 405 Win. that I thought I had sold. Thinking about putting a scope on it (it has a tang sight). Dimensionally, the 405 Winchester is close enough to the 40-65 Sharps that I was going to use it for Long Range BP shoots for SASS.

It appears scope bases from Uberti are sold out everywhere. Anybody here have any idea if any others will work? I was thinking Browning 1885 mounts and re-drilling screw holes if necessary?? Any advice or hints??

Don't know. I do want some magnification but looks count also!

That was an image I grabbed off the inter web. I'm sure that they are probably "a thing" in certain circles. Those circles likely involve old farts in possession of vintage type rifles that they used to shoot with young and sharp eyes. jd
