PTG custom actions

I considered it when I was looking for a custom/semi custom action. However with the large quantity of feedback on CS issues with PTG, I crossed them off my list. It simply was a much safer prospect to go with a mack bros, Kauger, pierce, BAT ignighter or even a tikka.

I went with the Kauger.

Aren’t they made on the same (type), of CNC equipment as every other generic action being sold.

Probably out of the same 416 stainless bar stock, just like 90 percent of the rest.

It’s probably no worse, or better than any of the other multitude of actions being offered.
 
@jackieschmidt True, but that could be said about the CNC lathes and grinders used to make their reamers....which have had their issues with QC and CS. Why would the actions be exempt?
 
I have built several rifle with the PTG B-12 and PTG B-52 actions. Mostly for Palma shooters and some F-Class, both F-Tr and F-Open. Then use the B-52 on a couple hunting rifles. All these worked just fine. They so far have been a good action, with little or no extra work needed to make them work.
That being said, the last batch I bought was last summer when they were still at 575.00 each. At the current price, I'd just buy another brand. If they put them back on a slae at 600ish, I'll be buying more.
But like most above have said, it's PTG. So things will not go as planned. You need to have extra time to deal with these guys. I still buy there bolts when needed, these actions. But I will not buy reamers for them.. I've had several mis marked?

PTG is all about money and not customer service. Before I knew better, I ordered several products from them. They shipped one item at a time, extra shipping charges. That's because the items were not in stock. They told me one product was in stock and it would go out the following day. 3 months later I received it. The people answering the phone do not know anything about the products they sell and are no help. She would never let me speak with someone else.

They will tell you something is in stock, but in reality it isn't. They take your order and when they have enough orders then they start the manufacturing process.

I for one will never do business with them again. If they had the only part in town and told me it was in stock, I would sell the rifle before buying anything from them.
 
As mentioned above, if you're going to buy something made by PTG, you're a lot better off buying it somewhere that has the item in stock. If you order directly, no telling how long you'll be waiting.

I won't order directly. Happened to me more than once also.
