Someone to profile an AR-15 barrel

I'm not finding an off the shelf barrel in the configuration I am looking for. 20" Bull barrel, .750" rifle gas, 6mm, 8 twist, not threaded. The cartridge will be 6 ARC

Proof research comes closest. It is threaded, I could probably live with that. It is 7.5 twist, I could probably live with that. But the gas length is spec'd as "Rifle +1", whatever that is. I am planning on using a piston so getting a push rod of the correct length is a complication.

The goal is to build a 1/2 MOA rifle to shoot a local match, 300 yard AR Varmint Benchrest.

I'm looking for someone to take a Kreiger or Bartlein blank and carve it into a properly profiled AR-15 barrel.

This profile would work, delete the threaded end and locate the gas block at standard rifle length, whatever that is. Straight 1" to the gas block feature would be fine too, preferred actually. Wouldn't need to be chambered either. I have someone here that will chamber it for me. Off the shelf extension and bolt.

Not according to Shilen;

We can sell a turned (contoured) blank or untured barrel blank which would have a 1.25" outside diameter.

For the AR15 6ARC
the 20" barrel would be the service rifle contour:

If you would be so kind as to allow the thread to remain on topic, someone to profile a barrel for me.
He’s right, the whole reasons ar’s are accurate are the fact there’s no moving parts of a gas system. What makes em accurate is a free float tube and fitting of the barrel extension to the upper
If shilen won’t do what you like try white oak or John scandale at keystone accuracy

Though not in the business, I've chambered over 100 AR15s and AR10s. 1/2 moa, though you hear lots of internet claims of " half minute all day long" to agg half moa is dang near hard to achieve, if not impossible with a gas gun. Even for bolt guns that is a tall order. Top benchrest shooters can probably do it.

I do all the barrels for the TX JRs for the last 9 years at a tune of 12 to 18 a year from Shilen donated blanks. So we issue the best barrels for our top shooters I came with the idea to have an adapter built into a Remington bolt gun to test AR15 barrels before the headspaced barrel extensions are finally torqued back in. Michael Turner machined the adapter for me.

One of our coaches test the barrels on a machine rest. As you guess, barrels' precision on every batch is all over. We expect precision to shoot the X at 600 on a calm day. Every now and then we get one that will shoot half the X ring. In service rifle competitions you can post great scores with a consistent minute gun. Then again, accuracy is shooter dependent.

On 6ARC AR15, I've harvested good 20 inches from take off Krieger and Bartlein 6mm PRC barrels for friends. They shot well. Feedback have been that on occasions one guy said he posted a couple of half minute groups at 100. The aberration, not the norm.

Just my 1 cent unsolicited input.

Compass Lake done my 6 ARC on a Douglas blank. The late and great Stan Taylor helped me get it done. Mine shoots factory ammo into 5/8 at 100

The +1 is Rifle length gas tube +1". Helpful with dwell time.

X-Caliber barrels offer alot of profiles and twist rates. Between myself and a few friends we have both AR and bolt gun barrels from them that shoot great. They offer barrels specifically set up for the Superlative Arms Piston kit as well.

Piston guns shoot just fine btw.

Glad to see you’re still cranking out barrels for the Jrs
