I wouldn't necessarily say it is a saturated market in respect to ACCURATE .22 rimfire bolt guns. While Anschutz and others make some pretty heavy target models - really not so much out there in respect to super accurate and refined sporter-weight models. Seems the days of the Anschutz Model 141's and such are behind us unless another company picks up the torch. While there seem to be a lot of models out there now that mostly shoot o.k. and some exceptional, there are a lot of rotten eggs mixed in with each particular model it seems. I'd really like to see Volquartson come out with a bolt gun, as I haven't yet shot a gun made by them that wasn't accurate. Would be interesting.....Why spend resources to enter a rather saturated market?

We all have our own idea as to what constitutes a super-accurate sporter, relative to what Volquartson has put out with their other firearms. I'd eliminate most on that list. They are all "nice" .22's, some far better than others even on that list.Anschutz, Tikka, Sako, CZ, Begara, Walther and probably some others I forget
A friend of mine got a Summit and put him Kidd barrel and Kidd 2 stage on the action. He was thinking the accuracy would improve with the Summit action. It did not. It shot the same as the 10-22 action, that shot very well. The summit shot very clean like a bolt gun, unlike the 10-22 I shot it a few time, I did like it.They already have one called the Summit. It is a straight pull action similar to those used in biathlon rifles. It uses their 10-22 receiver but different internals. I got excited about this when it was first announced... a fast shooting bolt accurate rifle that wasn't a 10-22.
Unfortunately, a lot of reviews are saying that its performance isn't meeting/exceeding expectations for the price.

Wrong assumption on my part. That really narrows the fields.Nowhere in the OP’s post was sporter weight mentioned. Only precision.
