Wonder when Volquartzen will make bolt action 22LR ?

With all the precision 22LR rifles coming out would be nice to see them make a 22LR bolt action

They already have one called the Summit. It is a straight pull action similar to those used in biathlon rifles. It uses their 10-22 receiver but different internals. I got excited about this when it was first announced... a fast shooting bolt accurate rifle that wasn't a 10-22.

Unfortunately, a lot of reviews are saying that its performance isn't meeting/exceeding expectations for the price.

Why spend resources to enter a rather saturated market?
I wouldn't necessarily say it is a saturated market in respect to ACCURATE .22 rimfire bolt guns. While Anschutz and others make some pretty heavy target models - really not so much out there in respect to super accurate and refined sporter-weight models. Seems the days of the Anschutz Model 141's and such are behind us unless another company picks up the torch. While there seem to be a lot of models out there now that mostly shoot o.k. and some exceptional, there are a lot of rotten eggs mixed in with each particular model it seems. I'd really like to see Volquartson come out with a bolt gun, as I haven't yet shot a gun made by them that wasn't accurate. Would be interesting.....

Anschutz, Tikka, Sako, CZ, Begara, Walther and probably some others I forget

We all have our own idea as to what constitutes a super-accurate sporter, relative to what Volquartson has put out with their other firearms. I'd eliminate most on that list. They are all "nice" .22's, some far better than others even on that list.

I have no clue really since I have never seen a Volquartson compete in a benchrest competition other than ABRA. There is probably a reason for that. I tried my Kidd once in ARA unlimited and could not break 2000 . On a 5 x 5 at 50 yards it averaged .411. I have a pair of CZ's that will outshoot it and a Vudoo that will kick it's butt solidly.

The rifle does darn good for a semi auto but about every rifle I mentionerd will beat it solidly with the right ammo. CCI and Norma shooters need not appply. I had switched ammo's from Eley to CX and you can see the barrel reseasoning itself as I move across. The Kidd will shoot medium price SK solidy from the .3's to the .5s on a regular basis. So no complaints but it isn't bolt gun accurate. The other target is a practice ARA target from my Vudoo. Unfortantly the ARA target is worst edge, if it was scored best edge it woould have been a pretty good target

If the average Volquartson can do that I might need to be looking at one. I have no need really for another rifle but if the darn things shoot that well I could make room

edited because my public education did not teach me how to speel.

edit 2 - if Volquartson made a drop in barrel for CZ 457's there would certainly be a market. I would be interested

A friend of mine got a Summit and put him Kidd barrel and Kidd 2 stage on the action. He was thinking the accuracy would improve with the Summit action. It did not. It shot the same as the 10-22 action, that shot very well. The summit shot very clean like a bolt gun, unlike the 10-22 I shot it a few time, I did like it.

Nowhere in the OP’s post was sporter weight mentioned. Only precision.

There are too many good ones out there now such as Vudoo, Desert Precision, CZ, Bergara, Tikka, Anschutz. I can't see why they would try to market a ghettoized Ruger to compete with those.
