New Arken 7x35

you are correct Nightforce customer service sucks hard…..I’m currently selling my two ATACR‘s and going back to Leupold I’m done with Nightforce…

Now you have me rethinking the last comment of getting good support. I don't like seeing mixed results, and there are certainly more than one case of people claiming to be mistreated. I have time to save some coin, I have as .264 barrel I plan to use first. In fact, I don't have an ELR barrel yet, just planning to get a .375 as I have a bolt/action-blank already.
At the time I was introduced to Arken scopes I owned 8 Leupolds 8.5 X 25 X 50 LRP scopes. Once I purchased my first EP-5 I sold all the Leupolds and went to Arken entirely. I agree on the glass. I definitely could see better with Arken. I since have purchased the EP4-L, SH4-J and the LH-4 and and I'm happy with all the glass.
I know you've been using them since the beginning. Are you going to invest in the 7x35?

Absolutely as soon as possible. I'm waiting until it is available in stock for dealers to purchase.

The biggest problem with Arken EP5 series is their VPR reticle only has 0.5mil hash in horizontal, if it's not a problem for the shooter then it is a good scope for the money. But for some reason Australian has the MPR reticle which has the 0.2mil hash like other scopes do.

Just notice that, Arken seems having a sibling now, DNT optics from the same factory but with 0.2mil hash and improvements: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/threads/big-news-on-arken-optics-7-35x56.2469201/

That DNT looks much better IMO. I'll have to see about getting one of those. It's a bit odd to me that the Arken website has 33 reviews on a scope that is listed with a 6-8 week lead time, and some of those reviews are sketchy at best. I do like my EP5 5-25 but their sales and marketing tactics are a bit hard to get behind.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the EP8 was $399.99 with a 25% discount to $299.99. That included the flip-its and it took so long they also gave a muzzle brake from Outlier, their parent/sister company. All of this stuff took a really long time to arrive.

About 6 months ago the EP8 went up to $499.99 without the flip-its.

I just was looking and the EP8 is back down to $399.99 with a 25% discount.o_O

Rumor had it that they couldn't keep the stock from flying off the shelf, so what gives?

Their scopes are good enough for my hunting needs, but if I was shooting competition, I would probably want something better. Aside from practice hunting will be my primary focus. They make ok stuff for the price, so it seems like a decent value, for what that's worth. Hopefully it doesn't go CHINK! Before I buy more I'm trying to figure out if they're just reeling in customers $200 at a time. As long as they're happy...soon they will be $1000...

My new 7-35 showed up yesterday so today i have removed my 5-25 arken and put the 7-35 in the same mounts. I have zero’d it to the same point of aim of my red dot bore sighter. I won’t have a chance to zero it with real ammo till September when my local range opens. That is also when i will do a tall target test.

Here are a few observations:

1 I could position the eye piece at relatively the same point all of my scopes are set up to. This is my fclass gun so being prone and having the eye piece in the same position is a big win for me

2. But 1 changed up where i put my scope level. Without moving the mounts i had to put it forward of the front ring. Good news there was plenty of real estate up there.

3. I leveled everything thing to my bolt raceway and all seemed good. Now i was ready to get a bore sight and look around. The 7-35 bore sighted to within the same moa up from being all the way to the down stop. Then i turned the scope onto houses across the street, about 75 yards. Having the bubble level level the reticle held the vertical side of a house. So the reticle doesn’t seem rotated but truly level to the scope body.

4. Then i wanted to check focus and chromatic aberration. Unfortunately it is pretty cloudy so I didn’t get brilliant whites that bring out CA but I couldn’t detect much. About the same as my NXS 8-32 scope. I did focus on the shingles on the roof and moved the shingle to the edge. I could still see the “sand” on the surface in focus so it has a pretty flat field. All of this was done at 35x

Right now i am thinking this is the bargain of the century. When i can shake it out more i will give updates

What range isn’t open during the summer? You should join Woody’s.

I took an EP5 25x power out of the rings on a CZ457-dropped the 7-35 in at same eye distance--it seemed just right--bore sighted--went to the range about an hour ago--about 12 rounds to season fresh clean barrel--and zero at 50 yards--then sent 5 rounds --wrapped it up and came home. Nice sunny day--This scope is sharper than my EP5 25x --great contrast--at 30x eyebox was zero issue--at 35x I had to be a little careful with eye placement but nothing like I was expecting --I have a Sightron 45x and you have to be Dead On in the perfect spot of it will not work but at 35x this scope was a breeze--I love it! Plan on ordering another --these are too good to pass up on. I have two Tract Toric 30x power- ( $1600 )-They are my gold standard--they are better! But...this new Arken is truly amazing for the $$--for anyone on the fence--Buy one! You will be thrilled
FWIW I can't understand some of the china bashing here--If you took all the china stuff out of your life --your home would fall down, you would not have any shoes on probably your Ford , Chevy or Dodge would not run--come on --no matter where this scope is built it is an amazing scope and is killing other brands for features, quality, and Value--just the facts-
I built race engines for decades--I remember when we first got cranks and rods from China--they sucked--But over the years we had guys from here go over there and work with the makers--help them understand what we needed quality wise--helped them millwright things and over the years we had steady gains until now days they are sending really great product--just the facts--Scopes look to be the same--Arken I am sure--has worked with the builders to push for better
IMO it is working like it should. And...these are not dirt cheap--$599 is still a pile of loot to any working man . I feel like this 7-35x would be a damn fine entry level PRS scope--it would be a Perfect prairie dog getter --and will be all most guys need to enter any long range action .
This Arken has the exact right combo of features--Thanks Arken!

Target was an hour ago--CZ 457 MTR with about 200 rounds down the tube--SK Rifle match red box- Amazon bipod, Protektor rear bag off of concrete bench -Arken 7-35x at 50 yards with a switching post Debbie storm wind of about 10 MPH

From all accounts I have read so far the 7 - 35 is going to be a big hit. As far as the China thing I would like for the scope to be made here in the USA but from realizing the quality or "lack of" here I'm not so sure it would be as good as what Arken is producing. Ultimately, these owners are our own that went to battle for our country and I have no problem selling the Arken scope. I totally understand there are cases of a faulty product within any realm of manufacturing but I can truthfully say Anything I have asked Arken to do which is very little they have done with no questions asked. That cannot be said concerning lots of other scope manufacturers.

Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center. They always close in August. At least it is now once a year. Back 15 years ago the would close twice a year for about 3 weeks. But how in their right mind wants to shoot indoors with August temperatures

Woody's is just too expensive for me.

Woody’s is only $425 a year after the first year with initiation but it has a 1000 yard range now too. It’s really not too bad and a short trip from Holly Springs.

ETA Woody’s guest fee is $40 if you ever wanted to go out. They only allow guests on the 550 yard range and not the 1000 though.

Sure seems to be another good scope for Arken.

I also see they came out with a new LH-6 which is a 1-6 SFP LVPO. On sale for $199. Can Arken do it yet again? I have the EP-8 which is FFP, to me it's good for my needs. I have a Vortex 1-4x24 gen 1 in SFP, both work for me. I normally only have to aim at the center dot. It is getting difficult to resist another Arken...but I think I'm ok for the time being. Will be interesting to see if I end up with another Arken for longer range...

(He is shooting a Barrett MRAD, that's a $12k rifle with a $500 scope)
