Aerospike 300 BLK 146 Lulu adventure begins

Congratulations, what Tier is the University??

Maybe you could display the body of work (papers) that got you promoted, I imagine you must of had the CV to deserve the promotion. Be proud of your demonstrated academic achievements, don't be shy, please share them with the great unwashed here on 6mmBR.
I demand to see your credentials! I cannot in good faith consider a bullet without the proper background check! Let me see your DNA. Where is your dental records? How can we take you seriously if you don't show us your credit rating!

This is a three ring circus. When does the theory end and actual shooting begin?

This guy comes in here and immediately alienates himself from the very people he is trying to get help from. He has been abrasive, rude and condescending. Whatever shit has been shoveled his way is due to the above.
Sorry, not immediately. I am showing the respect shown.

I thought you would be proud of your academic accomplishments and want to share them with the world, maybe you have displayed all of your accomplishments here on 6mmBR. Keep in mind you are one making claims, what claims have I made that I need to qualify? All I have done is ask questions, an educator should not get butthurt when someone in the audience asks questions about your work. Now if I had made claims that countered the science behind your claims a display of my credentials would probably be warranted.

Why should you ask to my credentials when I have made no claims as to my academic prowess or accomplishments. Although if you read my responses you might assume a strong association with higher education somewhere in my past.

When you have asked technical questions, such as the method used for a particular solver I have answered them to the best of my knowledge, yet my technical questions go unanswered. Does that mode of operation work well for you when/if you present at conferences? I have seen feeding frenzies break out at conference presentation when your approach is used, like a train wreck they are hard to turn away from. Treat us with the same respect that I assume you do your peers and you will get respect here.

In at least 4 posts I have asked technical questions that were lacking in any snark and you never responded to those, they were not difficult questions for someone with your background. I started to get snarky when you were brow beating the same people you were asking for help with your PhD., uncompensated help for the matter.

When the brow beating started I started to try and find any academic-type accomplishment, assuming you had them since you have a PhD. I was technically interested in what your work was. You might assume I have the requisite to at least start a dive into the science behind your claims, and you would be correct. The sum total I was able to find was a conference proceeding, two paragraphs (coauthored) in a NASA tech report, and your book. Not a lot for someone with a PhD. Most PhD holders have a more expansive CV when they walk across the stage to receive their degree. Be proud show us what you have done in your career, don't be shy.

I will contend that your view is slanted. To this point in time, which one of your threads has not turned into a shit show? When a pattern like that develops it should cause some alarm bells to go off that the problem does not lie with the target audience.

You have earned zero respect in a forum that is littered with championship shooters. Having an advanced degree earns you nothing here where the rubber meets the road. This is a results oriented crowd.

I had a credential once, at a small Cajun restaurant. Missed a week of work do to diarrhea. Thought about putting a bullet through my head, but couldn’t find one with the right pedigree.

Have some shooting to do today with any luck, you guys get this thread locked while I’m gone, I’ll be pissed.

I’m going to order some to test, as well. If we look at the turbulent flow, above, in the wake of a bullet, the designs below, one real, one stylized, are intuitive.

The Tubb bullet has worked very well for me, but in fairness so did the normal boat tail.

The depiction of the smallest trailing surface possible, one that certainly could not survive exposure to propellant gasses, has obviously caught others’ attention, as well, as many of us may remember from a certain 2008 movie. It was glimpsed without explanation for an onscreen time of less than a second, but it was quite apparent that the scene, and the movie in general was scripted to require extensive consultation with individuals having particular knowledge, which I find interesting.

The shape of this bullet reminds me of an attempt at making a carpenters plumb bob.
The bullet and claims made remind me of descriptions of products in the Herters' catalog, wasn't it the "Waist" bullet that Jaques made such claims about. About the only thing John missed over Jaques Herters is John doesn't claim his products are used by Europe's royalty. I guess John will have to get products to market before the royalty will be able to buy them.

I have a Herters' catalog and still enjoy looking at it, I often salivate over the listed FN commercial model 98's for about $100 if memory serves me right.

Now your just teasing me! I love these images.

The top one is how yaw inducing devices work. I have a couple of students who will be working on designing one form me this year. The shockwaves bouncing off the wall and bullet (left picture) creates a strong pressure force on the base that increases the angle of attack. Not useful in practice but very useful if you want to measure the epicyclic motion with cameras or radar.

Notice the bottom images (CFD-Computational Fluid Dynamics) do not catch the swirling twirling turbulence behind the bullet. That is one of the reasons I have a difficult time using CFD with my bullets. The CFD doesn't catch the turbulence very well and my bullets work by reducing the turbulence.

Thus I'm mostly using live fire data to design my bullets.
Groups and data please?? Care to share them??

Hey now!!!! Bringing Herters into this is an insult to Herters. I still have some of these in 270 and 308. They do shoot and perform very well.
NOW BACK TO THE MOVIE.

Tag, innovation comes from several directions. Savants, or subject matter experts breaking the defined assumptions and processes in calculated ways to test the theories.

Curious to see results; more curious to understand the experiment. What's the next step, fine tune the design and formulas or enhance manufacturing uniformity?
