BAT L or XL in stock?

Anybody know where there might be a BAT L or XL in Lapua bolt face in stock, ready to ship? I've checked Bruno's and bullet central, I just don't know who else might have a chance of having one on the shelf. Thanks!

Lapua bolt face? Do you mean to identify bolt face size? That would be Magnum, 308 or 223 and maybe PPC. No such thing as Lapua bolt face. Lapua makes ammunition, brass and bullets in all sizes.

Incorrect sir, there is most definitely a Lapua bolt face, and it is none of those that you mentioned. It is the bolt face used for 338 Lapua, among others. Have a wonderful day!

That would be a 416 Rigby bolt face. A diameter .585. 416 Rigby is the parent of 338 Lapua. I repeat, there is no such thing as a Lapua bolt face. Bolt faces are identified by the diameter used for the cartridge in question.
Well, you are technically correct. However, i might point out that virtually every custom action manufacturer refers to this as either a Lapua boltface, or even a 338 bolt face. A small number may call it out by diameter. The fact remains, the majority of folks , including yourself I suspect, knew exactly what I meant. This concludes my interaction with you, good day sir.

If they refer to .585 bolt face as a Lapua boltface they are mistaken. They would be approaching greater accuracy if they called it a 416 Rigby boltface. Perhaps 470, 500, 600 Nitro Express would be even closer to the truth as the diameter was designed around those old black powder African/Indian hunting cartridges. It seems like the folks who would call a .585 boltface a Lapua have only one tool, the 338 Lapua is their hammer and as they say if you have a hammer, every problem tends to look like a nail.

The skys opened up and the sun shined upon me, BAT has an L in stock in exactly the configuration I wanted. Crazy thing, they even say it is 338 Lapua bolt face, despite the member above insisting there is no such thing. Thanks for the helpful suggestions from the group!

And some people act like a hammer head. ;)
Bat makes em so Bat can name em.
Ever hear of a Boy Named Sue??

Perhaps some of those who own 338 Lapua's need a simple handle to reference regardless of how silly it sounds. I never called my 338 Lapua bolt face a Lapua and I'd never heard anyone call a .585 size bolt face a Lapua. That sounds like a snipers hide kind of thing. Do they touch themselves when they utter the word?

And for the record, I live about 30 minutes from BAT and I own BAT actions.

Also for the record, I do (or did) know a boy named Sue. He was a good friend. He was Chinese and he'd moved to Spokane from Bay area. He discovered rodeo then he discovered Bull Riding. He rode Bulls in rodeo's all around this area. They would introduce him as a boy named Sue (which was his last name). He was a black belt in martial arts and also ran a dojo for a number of years after his wife made him quit bull riding following a particularly bad stomping. Sadly he passed at a relatively early age a number of years back.
