A short Arken Scope testimony.

Just got my SH4 Gen2 4-16x 34mm scope in MOA. Have only unboxed it and played a little with it in my hands but so far it’s very nice. Super impressive for the price point. Great reticle and glass is nice :) Turret click feel is right up there with NightForce, Trijicon, and other high dollar optics. Ran the elevation turret from bottom to top and had 130 MOA of total adjustment so it will easily reach out and touch targets at any distances my rifles are capable of. Will go more in depth on it this weekend.

Picked up a new set of off-brand scope rings that are REALLY impressive too. Will add them in a review to come. I think you guys will fall out your chairs when you hear what I paid for these rings with the level of precision and features that go into them ;)

Speaking of Arken Optics. I am torn between Vortex Strike Eagle and Arken EP5 for my 22lr. The thing I like aboiut Vortex is lifetime warranty no questions asked. I had a problem with my PST II, windage turret just broke. I sent the scope to the local dealer. Scope was sent back to me within 10 days repaired. Considering Arken is cheaper I just ask myself whether the warranty is worth extra money.

So far as I can see and have seen Arken has demonstrated a no questions asked warranty with customers.

I literally just sent in a PST II 5-25x50 for windage adjustments not working. Problem with Vortex is that you’ll end up using that warranty. Good warranties are nice, but I’d rather have a scope that was built good enough that I didn’t need to make a warranty claim. Especially when the scope only saw a very short period of normal use and was never dropped or banged around. And that’s not the first time I’ve had to use a Vortex warranty. I’m done with Vortex…

Yeah but im not trying to compare apples to oranges. I’m a fan of the Trijicon Tenmile scopes, especially the 4.5-30x56, but also like my 4-24x50. For my eyes, Trijicon glass edges out NightForce and Vortex Razor in resolution, brightness, and contrast and they are built tougher than a tank. However, I’m not expecting Trijicon level of glass and performance from a sub $300 Arken scope. Just going on a fun little AR-15 in 6mm ARC so no real requirement for serious glass there. If the Arken proves to be comparable to other scopes in the $500-$600 range, that would be a win in my book :) And if it doesn’t, I pack it up for a return and get something else.

Like I said, I have experience with Athlon Midas scopes and they are good, but haven’t seen the newer Midas Tac model. I’ll check them out and keep it in mind ;)
I have seen influencers on youtube saying an arken sh4 is almost as good as a pmII lol. My life is too short to look through an arken for 12 hrs on a dog town. The midas tac at 450 bucks is the difference between knowing if its a small cactus or a prairie dog at longer ranges. I must admit im a snob these days. A Tract is as low as i will ever go again. The midas tac is just my spare scope for load development on rifles that will get a low power scope.

One also may want to consider that an EP5 is 39.2oz and the Strike Eagle is only 30.4oz.

I have an EP5 and like it on my chassis just fine, the youngest has a Strike Eagle and it doesn't feel top heavy on a much lighter rifle (Savage 110 Tactical Desert) like the EP5 does. Between the two I'd pay $200-300 more and get the Strike Eagle every time, it's just that much nicer in addition to considerably lighter.

Right now Arken is almost impossible to get a hold of if you have any issue. They are not taking calls or answering any emails. From all the post I see all over the net about people having problems. Lots of people are not getting all of the items they have ordered and Arken will not get back to them.

I bought one of the sh46-24 last year but was USED when it got to me. Had ring marks in several locations like whoever tried it on different guns and then sent it back. Took about a month but the $ finally was returned. They take it instantly but takes forever to get it returned.

I took another chance around Christmas and got the sh4j6-24 for cheap on the black Friday sales. The scope is ok. It tracks perfect. But the glass is still not that great. I have some old Tasco's Simmons that have better glass. But that was before all the china junk was made.

Don’t know if there was something wrong with the scope you received, but I’ve been messing around with the new 4-16x Arken against other scopes all weekend at different ranges and lighting levels (all set at 16x power) and so far I would have to agree with the YouTube influencers reviews. I’ve been checking it in sunny and hot, overcast and cool/rainy, and low light conditions. Been a good weekend for this testing because we’ve had a little bit of all types of weather. It’s a really impressive optic for the money and will definitely compete with other scopes costing 3-4x as much money. I’ll go into more detail on the things I am checking and looking at later when I feel I’ve put the Arken thru all the paces. I am simultaneously reviewing a different low priced Truglo 4-24x50 TX6 scope that is also impressing me for the price point, tho it is not quite as nice as the Arken.

Images shown thru the scope is the Arken looking at homes 950 yards away. The images were perfectly crisp and clear with plenty of light, but my phone has trouble focusing a scope image so they are not a good representation of the true images I had thru the scope. Good low light performance from the Arken and a nice wide field of view with edge to edge sharpness.

Done with my optical comparisons and now have the Arken mounted and leveled up for fire testing on my 300 NMI. Rifle is built on a BAT HR action in a customized WOOX Exactus aluminum/wood chassis stock and a 27” Hart barrel with muzzle brake. My load pushes the 220gr Berger at 3200 fps using a stout load of N570 so there will be plenty of percussion for this scope to endure. Recoil isn’t bad with my muzzle brake, but the blast from the brake with a big round really puts a scope to the test. In prior testing, I’ve found that a large rearward muzzle blast can actually knock a scope off just as easily as really heavy recoil, and the blast from this rifle will mow the grass for 10 feet on either side of me. LOL!

Are you on arken's payroll like all the youtubers? I call absolute BS on REX, panther hollow, and everyone else on YouTube. I bought the hype. I paid a mediocre price, and I received a mediocre product. That panther hollow DB sang your song and of course REX thinks its a pmII. REX also has a sweet new compound in the dakotas and far as I can tell hasn't done anything worth a penny since sniper 101. Hey, what do I know, im just a drunk hillbilly blasting anything that moves!

Yea I expect you will see some great use from this scope. Arken makes a great product for the $$$ and so far all I have sold are doing a great job for the owners.

I have owned and still own some of the finest optics money can buy from Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss, NightForce, Kahles, Meopta Meostar, Trijicon, and Vortex Razor. So take my opinion or leave it. I’m not biased in any way. Just trying to report what my eyes see in comparison from my own personal experience over many years of owning and using all price ranges of optics.

I believe you received a faulty optic if you had the same scope as me, or perhaps you are drunk as you say. lol! But everyone’s eyes and opinions vary. If Arken isn’t for your eyes and preferences, that’s fine. Move on to scopes you prefer more and we will happily continue our discussion without your input. ;)

When I canceled my order I had placed through Arken after ordering one from Amazon I had no issues. I sent them an email and my card was refunded the next day. They also called me to confirm my info after placing my order as my billing and shipping didn't match.
