A short Arken Scope testimony.

I have owned and still own some of the finest optics money can buy from Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss, NightForce, Kahles, Meopta Meostar, Trijicon, and Vortex Razor. So take my opinion or leave it. I’m not biased in any way. Just trying to report what my eyes see in comparison from my own personal experience over many years of owning and using all price ranges of optics.

I believe you received a faulty optic if you had the same scope as me, or perhaps you are drunk as you say. lol! But everyone’s eyes and opinions vary. If Arken isn’t for your eyes and preferences, that’s fine. Move on to scopes you prefer more and we will happily continue our discussion without your input. ;)
Well said, thank you for your post and pictures. I've discussed optics in threads over the years that you have participated in an knowing the range of optics you have purchased I definitely value your opinion. I've bought 6 Arken's and my buddy has purchased 3. We had 1 of his that was subpar in clarity while checking it at the range on a scope checker against higher $$$$ optics. While at the range I sent a text to Arken, I shortly received a phone call, then promptly received a return shipping label. He had a new scope to him and in service quickly. These scopes get used quite a lot, especially shooting pdogs. Zero issues.

Yeah my 4-16 SH4 G2 not quite as good as top level glass from Japan or Germany. It’s dang close tho! Resolution is nice and sharp edge to edge. I can see a very slight amount of chromatic aberration in certain lighting backdrops on high contrast targets, but it’s nothing to really mention. All Chinese glass will do that and the Arken has it controlled pretty well. Viewable depth of field at a focus point is the biggest difference you’ll notice with top dollar glass vs. cheaper Chinese glass, but again, this Arken does pretty good in that regard.

The eye box is a little critical on max power, and that’s just what you get with a shorter more compact scope body that is trying to deliver a wide field of view. Tho I have no issues getting a fast full view with it on the rifle so the eye box is not a concern for me. A person’s head shouldn’t be moving all over when shooting anyhow. I actually prefer a little tighter eye box on a scope because it lets me know if I’m lining my head up consistently on the stock every time. Also helps if I don’t have parallax perfectly adjusted. I have owned a different brand scope in the past with a crazy tight eye box on max power that became really annoying to me. The Arken eye box is NOT like that

I visited last weekend with a fellow that works for one of the newer optics companies. They have been around for 10+ years and have a good following. Interesting he said China can make some darn good stuff, when specked out and inspected, not just junk.
There is a Chinese PCP air rifle out that as far as groups go make a $2k+ rifle look the same. Guys are wondering if the extra $$$$ is really worth it.

I emailed the guys at Arken on a Saturday or a Sunday with a couple of questions, I got an answer back that day! That is above and beyond for CS.
I have seen some comments from a fellow was having a contact issue, so I forwarded the link to Arken, they contacted the person on the forum and got it straightened out.

That’s awesome to hear :)

Lots of times the response is within a few hours from Arken.

For those of you with an EP4 and SH4 series Arken scopes in the same magnification range, do you think the Japanese ED glass is significantly better than the SH series?

I see they only offer the 4-16 and 6-24 in EP series with a 30mm tube. Not much of a price difference but I would prefer a 34mm tube. Just wondering if in your opinion, the EP glass thru a smaller 30mm tube is much better than the SH glass in a larger 34mm tube? Thanks

My Epl4 6-24x50 is supposed to be here today. If glass is as good as my 4-16 I’ll be tickled.
WELL ………. I ordered 3 scopes. 2 came in. 1 has trash towards the outter edge that goes away on 8 power and above . The other has moisture/water droplets all over the reticle and throughout the entire image. NOT GOOD

Yeah that’s not good. Did you order straight from Arken? I was fearing a similar situation so I ordered thru Amazon for easy returns if needed. Luckily I didn’t need it.

I wonder if they go thru quality control inspections stateside before being released on the market or if they just ship them as received from China

Definitely send them back.

Came from camera land. They don’t have any more in stock. They are contacting Arken and supposed to have them contact me. Talk about sucks.

Unfortunate is a kind way to say it, kind of kills the excitement. I hope it gets straightened out, lets see how they handle it.

Just look at the Chinese military, they have comparable technology as the US. Whether developed, copied, or stolen they have it. In Shanghai the new island city they built is much more impressive than any other city I've seen in the world. It's a mistake to under estimate their capability vs our desire to buy cheap crap.
