BSA Martini scope (old style).

I am now looking at a Mk2 BSA Martini (have 2 to choose from and will probably get both). A man can't have too many Martini actions can he?
Anyway, for my incoming Mk2's I'd like the old style nice long scopes (Unertl?).
Not a great choice here in NZ, so where do I find an 'old style' scope (modern repro's are OK too)?
Are the Malcolm scopes OK?

Or...?
Your thoughts welcome.
Thanks.

Yes, indulge! I am a closeted martini cadet lover.
Now I am out and proud.
Be free brother!

Regarding "barrel rider" type scopes - I don't know anything about new reproductions. But plenty of Unertls, Feckers and Lyman target spots floating around used. Conditions vary, so research and choose wisely.
All of the above are external adjustment scopes. Mounts and bases must be compatible.
For long barrel riding scopes with internal adjustments, look at old Redfield 3200's. The 6400's are also long, but they are a later scope and a little shorter.

Go to the ASSRA single shot site, there is a wealth of info, classified section, along with a lot about modern repros.
Getting them to NZ, don’t know but lots of info.
Ideally, you want a Unertl 1 1/4” or 1 1/2”

Don't pass up a Balvar 6-24 either, great scope. I have built Rails for modern scopes mounting off the rear block screw holes that worked very well. I would usually bed the rail to the barrel and receiver to make it even more stable. I like this much better than the bulkier mounts available. Hard to do better than a nice 20x Unertl though.

There is a mount made that uses the sight mount screw location. I seem to be struggling to find the one I saw. Below is a link for your information.

Hi there - Thanks for the interest in my Martini scope mounts. I make these by hand in my home workshop. They fit all MK2,3,4 and 5 Internationals and I make them for both right and left rifles. They are fitted with an 8" picatinny rail.
I also make a modern version of the Parker-Hale QL-5 ammo holder that attaches to the receiver by magnets so can be used either side.
