Redding bushing VS Redding non bushing

I'm loading for a 22 BR Stan Turner chambered for me before he passed. The problem is that the Redding bushing sized brass won't chamber all the way, but the Redding non bushing die will. Photos show the non bushing and the bushing die results. Can I turn the bushing shorter to get rid of the taper?

It's not the bushing. There is a shelf inside the Bushing die where the bushing actually sits. The die cannot size that portion of the neck.

Guessing maybe you bought a bushing neck die instead of the bushing FLS die? That could be the difference, or like as has been said, that last little bit of the neck that isn't being sized is the issue. Believe Redding will hone an FLS die to specific dia for you if you want, if they won't Forster will. Just don't go changing brass brands.

Do you have a bump gauge? Are the both dies adjusted the same for shoulder bump? Very unusual situation. Looks like a no turn neck?

If I ever get another barrel chambered I will insist that they give me the reamer print number and put the freebore on the receipt.

I'm not bumping, I'm full length sizing. It's a no turn neck.

Can you explain your not bumping. It's a standard method of adjusting the die. May not be related to your problem unless the shoulder is too far forward with one of the dies. I reloaded for 40 years before I had a bump guage. Won't chamber, it's obviously a case size dimension problem. I would think either die would size properly if it's adjusted correctly.

The shoulder gets pushed back when you full size, if that's what you mean by bumping. I think my problem is what --243winxb-- is suggesting, that the 6 BR sizer is too large at the bushing shelf and not sizing all the way to the shoulder. Time to purchase a 22BR FL BUSHING sizer.
