I have two loading blocks, one gray and one red. The only times brass touches the gray one is after it is primed or bullet seated awaiting crimping. The only time brass touches the red on is after it is charged with powder. I always complete a step for all brass I am reloading before moving on to the next step.

I prefer it to be quiet in my reloading room. Only one I like in there with me is the dog, he doesn't talk or complain about the mess.

It seems weird in my reloading room if I cannot hear the dog snoring.

I have trouble with static electricity with powder wanting to stick to the sides of the powder measure, the weight scale pan & funnel. So before I start, I get a dryer sheet & wipe everything, the powder measure, funnel & pan.

I don't HAVE quirks! Everyone else does! My processes are totally logical and well thought out. Hah. Right.

Probably my biggest OCD-like quirk is record keeping. I have three ring binders that document every handload I've created since I started in the mid-80's. 1980's guys, not 1880's.

Next up is inventory control. A spreadsheet shows current stash of powder, primers, bullets and cases. Every lot of cases has a number and a log sheet. I can tell you how many times the lot was loaded, trimmed, annealed etc. Bullet inventory drove me nuts until I set up a bunch of numbered 50 call ammo cans. My inventory spreadsheet shows what bullets are in which can. It used to be that I'd buy more of what I didn't need and forget to buy what I needed.

I may be obsessive, but am I obsessive enough???

I only load powder to an even decimal point. Never odd.

I only use odd numbers
Just kidding but I like odd numbers because they work better in machining often and I don't know maybe I'm odd
I also made case holders that have a extra row for moving the case after each process.

I have always been an avid reloader, since 12 years old. And yes, I reloaded drunk. I think I developed defensive techniques to prevent disaster, because I was well aware of my condition, and the dangers of screwing up.

I've been clean and sober since 1998, but I still use my defensive techniques of reloading, and they have served me well. It's ironic that those techniques are every bit as valuable now that I'm almost "old" as they were when I was chronically "drunk". jd

I bet I know why as I so the same thing.

New brass; 6" long range rod gets a turned end to a push fit in the unsized necks. Then roll the rod on a flat plate with the case hanging off the side. Any cases that are obviously out of alignment,where the body and neck aren't in sync... throw them in the "reserve" pile. Usually one or two per 100.

Might want to double check your decapping stem isnt set too long if your getting proud primers.

Years ago my wife and I sleep in the same room I reloaded in. I would often reload after she went to bed she asked me to reload something that she could not sleep. I asked what in "what in the world are you talking about?" "Oh I can't get to sleep if I don't hear the beep from you reloading!" The sound of the chargemaster.

Yeah but with all the EV chargers working, we simply can't get enough electricity to make the shock therapy effective....

I keep dryer sheets in all my powder dispensers. I don’t have a static problem doing that.
