NeoX Carry Case

Can you take a picture from the side with the rest in the case and the lid open? I'm wondering how high the elevation knob sticks up above the edge of the bottom part of the case?
Hope this helps.

Thank you, That's perfect.

That knob sits pretty proud of the bottom half of the case. So that makes sense why you can't use the standard egg crate foam on the lid.

For those using the HF Apache 4800, are you taking all the foam out?

In the 4800…. I used all the layers and used spray glue to hold them together with exception of the top piece glueing to the lid. It fits like a glove but way too heavy.

I would prefer to use a hard case to transport my Seb NEO-X if I had to fly. But for just carrying it in my car, a soft side case is all I need. I found such a case on Amazon; it is for a laptop, but it works fine. It is a Kroser Laptop Bag, and for $31.49, I couldn’t go wrong. As it turned out it works great!

The only problem I had initially was with the FCP scope stand adapter, as it would prevent the NEO-X from fitting in the bag. The FCP Scope Stand works extremely well and I would not want to do without it. Therefore, I modified the adapter (drilled a Ø1/2” on the bottom plate) so it could be easily attached and removed with just one bolt. The bag has enough room to store the extra parts, wrenches, etc.

So I just tried the Apache 4800 this afternoon and it works perfect with the foam in the lid and the thinner piece of foam still in the bottom. The elevation adjustment knobs compress into the foam. I'm going to get another one of these cases just for my Neo X and trim the center foam pieces to fit the rest.

The 4800 works perfect as far as size goes but the dang thing is heavier than the rest I do believe. I think I’d rather have a bag with zip top if I can find the right size.
The 4800 with a Neo X it weighs almost exactly the same as the Rodzilla and the case it comes in. For what that's worth if anyone is comparing.

Here is what I just tried with my Neo-X

The case I found on Amazon is a B&W International 5000. I got the one with the RPD insert. I think RPD means repositionable padded dividers. I took out most of the internal dividers. I left the 2 width long dividers and the outer border.

Here’s another option. The Yeti load out 30. Not the lightest for sure but I already had one so I decided to try it. It may be a good option for flying. The Seb factory foam insert fits snug without any modifications to it.

Oops I didn't read down enough LOL

Hello shooting family,

I received my Neo X and this is the carrying case I got. The only thing I need to find is a thin piece of foam for the top, it fits perfectly and it is not that heavy.

Thank you
Al. B
If you haven't found foam for the top yet, search eBay for Zoro foam. Lots of sizes and thicknesses. I got some and the quality was good.

Rod’s Raptor soft bag is great for Raptor. Would think ok for NEO-X also. I prefer small soft bag vs. larger hard case, but that’s me.

Is that a new version of the FCP scope mount? The video I saw you could take everything off and just leave the mount attached to the arm.

Yes, everything comes off except the mount. And that, the mount itself, did not fit in the laptop case. Using the single bolt to attach the mount to the rest solved that problem.

Anyone know if there is a foam option for the yeti 30 load out, or any crafty member make an insert.
The shipping insert fits nicely but I worry about longevity/durability.

Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, the hard foam will decompose. Saving the foam insert for shipping using SEB’s OEM wood box might be a good idea for future shipping needs.
