I found this case:
Ant Mag Hard Case at Amazon. which let me utilize the nice molded styrofoam lower filler that the Neo-X was shipped in. With some minor mods the fit is really good.
This other case on Amazon should work as well. The inside dimensions are virtually identical:
AxiGear 19 x 14 x 8in .
Edit update: Use this case! See my explanation at end of this post.
There is about 1/4" to spare on each side length-wise but I had to shave 1/4" off the "front" side off the styrofoam filler on my bandsaw to match the inside width of the case.

Then I beveled the bottom corners off the long sides of the filler so that it would fit all the way down in the case before it hit the radius in the bottom of the case walls.
To get the lid to close you will have to either remove the target side coarse elevation knob (which you would probably never miss) or turn at least .400" off the end of the knob like I did.

For the unit to fit in the styrofoam lower you will need to retract the two rear foot screws flush with the legs or quickly remove them and store off to the side like I did. The front screw can remain on the unit as long as it is not protruding more than 1".
With this slightly wider case I am able to clip-on and store the joystick with the long extension on it. I cut-out some notches to clear the joystick knobs.
It's not totally plug & play. But with just a little effort this can be a great Neo-X hard case for under 75 bucks. If you don't want to mess with the styrofoam filler. You can also customize it with the Pick N'Pluck foam that the cases come with and possibly not need to remove/modify the elevation knob. I think this case in better suited for the Neo-X than all of the previously mentioned smaller hard cases.
EDIT UPDATE: I got the AxiGear 19 x 14 x 8in case.
USE THIS CASE! It's just a hair taller & has just a bit more headroom in the lid than the Ant Mag to clear the elevation knob without having to remove/modify it. Width & length are about the same. Also it comes with 3 layers of the Pluck N'Pick foam instead two thicker layers with the Ant Mag if your wish to customize your own cavities.
Also I shifted the styrofoam filler to left side of the case. Now I have an approx. 3/4" wide cavity on the right side for my benchrest pads & misc. storage.
