Lapua blue box 6mm BR cases

I just opened another box of these and, as usual, there are 101 cases in the box. This has been normal for the last few years. Wonder if the extra is there to replace a split neck on expanding or just good will? Either way thanks Lapua.

All the 6BR case I have received have been in blue plastic boxes that double as a cartridge box. Nice. Yes they prolly will change that down the road to squeeze a few more pennies out of each sale. Hope not.

My last 5 or 6 blue boxes have all come with at least 101.. I had one with 103 in it. I also wondered why as they were always 100pc up until the last couple years...

For what they are bringing they could put 110 in a 100 round box and come out on top.

They probably know that we can barely count to 100, as only a few of us have that many fingers and toes....and it's easier to just put another piece in the box than arguing with us about it. Lol!

Guys,
LAPUA is going to all cardboard packaging with segregated compartments for each cartridge case to reduce or eliminate damage done to case necks and case mouths due to the shipping process. So there will be no more " extra" cases. That is the trade off.

Back in the old days when I started reloading, 60 plus years ago. Sierra, Speer and Herter's always had 101 bullets per box. IF my memory is still OK. I think it was because the volume was measured by weight, so a bonus was given to be sure. The first time I loaded it was 100 rnds of 30-06, Sierra 180 gr. $4.00, primers $0.85 and 4895 surplus powder was $1.00 per pound. Nosler partition bullets were the same price per box but only contained 50 bullets. WOW, how things have changed, but my wages increased also. You are old if the price of lettuce is a concern.

I've never received a extra case of 6.5 CM, small primer. At least 10 boxes.
I'm not a fan of the new cardboard box. I've never had a dented neck from the plastic box. My cases are run thru a sizing die, then chamferd and deburred before loading anyway.

I'm not a fan of the new cardboard box. I've never had a dented neck from the plastic box. My cases are run thru a sizing die, then chambered and deburred before loading anyway.

I will miss the plastic boxes.
