Bat Firing Pin weight

Does anyone know the weight difference between the old 250 firing pins and the new 280 pins?
Tim,
DS size action
The old 1/4” pin weighs 34.168g (1.025oz)
The new pin weighs around 42g (1.48oz)
The Dwight Scott tungsten on the 1/4 pin made it weigh about the same as new BAT pin (no surprise there)

The biggest change is not the weight on the DS mod it’s the spring at around 23 1/2 lb

Unless you have drag in your bolt ignition system the weight will make very little difference. Unless you need more spring it will help with that

I increased pin fall and that does make a difference in overall consistency.

I made an excel calculator as per Stuart Ottessons book and you can see what increases the impact on primer.
It works out impact energy and also lock time which in BR we don’t really care about.

Cheers
Michael
