adding weight to a BAT firing pin

I found out from another post that BAT firing pins are on the light side and cause mis fires. I would like some advise about adding mass to the pins to help solve the problem.
thanks

You could add a steel spacer to go in front of the firing pin spring. You would probably want to shorten the firing pin spring an amount equal to the length of the spacer. This would add weight to the firing pin and make the spring rate a bit higher. Make sure you don't coil bind the spring.

I had the same problem with one of my Bats. I finally figured out the spring tension adjustment was set to light. After I disassembled the striker and made two full revolutions to put more tension on the spring, the problem was solved. No more miss fires fire forming and the consistent ignition issue was sustained.

You might want to discuss this with Bruce or Thom at BAT. The problem could be related to the geometry of your trigger sear block. It may be too far forward and causing a shortened firing pin fall. This has been dealt with by using different trigger hangers or rotating them fore and aft.

Yes. My Bat-3L came with two hangers that could be flipped fore and aft giving 0.040" adjustment in firing pin strike. In mine, the rear of the pin should just protrude out of the shroud.

No problems so far.

My firing pin was not protruding when cocked until the adjustment to the striker was made. Then the striker is protruding as you mentioned.
