Federal primers

I prefer them in my .223 when using Varget with heavy bullets. Better accuracy than BR-4s.

Yes, having been using them for at least 25 years with my 223 Rem bolt rifles.

I also have had success with Remington 7 1/2 years ago especially in the 222 Rem.

I used them exclusively in my non competition 6ppc and 223 loads back when they were only a few dollars more than the standard Federal 205 SRP. Now that they cost $40 more than baseline CCI 400s I’m not touching them. Same goes for BR4s. Once I use my stash I’m not paying 2x price of a 400.

I have always used the 205M until recently and switched to the 205MAR and haven't noticed any difference other than the head stamp. They cost $100 per 1K out the door with tax at my local dealer.

Those 205M's are great primers. I use them in about half of my loads for 6PPC and 6BR, while using another brand on the other half. If I could only have one primer - this would be one of my top two.

I believe the 205MAR has a .025 cup vs the .022 cup of the 205M, I don’t have the equipment to measure the cup thickness but the 205m pierces in my .223AI loads where as the 205MAR does not, one day someone will measure them and we will no for sure…
