223 Ladder Test

Something I did not even consider but looking at this chart I definitely see a trend but I would need more data is the fact that I was adjusting my tuner every two shots. I was between setting 6.5 and setting 6 for my final.

It could be something or it could be nothing, I did not chronograph enough shots to actually show a trend, but the graph is showing the velocity change based on tuner setting

It is showing lots of variation but if I was trying to give you good advice it would be two things.

One would be a whole other thread on eliminating as much risk in the prep and loading as possible for the duration of short term testing. Pull out the stops and use your best loading capability for now. (Once you found the best tune, then you can experiment with relaxing your grip on loading precision/accuracy, but for now you need better ammo too.)

Two would be to focus on the target data and getting out to distance where the shotfall spread helps identify better loads. You are shooting so close that trajectory isn't visible and will become important if you try to go to +600 or more.

Leave the tuner somewhere in the middle of its adjustment range and just Load-tune the rifle for a forgiving node for now. We don't know if the gun likes this recipe at all just yet, so the tuner will just confound you.

Next time I shoot, I’m going to take a target out to 600.

My results from today, mother nature wasn't cooperative with winds at 20 gusting 30, but I'm happy with the results. Should work for sling shooting.

I wouldn't think the tuner has anything to do with velocity. I think it's just a weight to change the vibration pattern. For long distance I would look at group size and ES. For short range group size is all the matters.

I agree with Webster. The tuner is for vibration control. It should have NOTHING to do with velocity!
