Are Fiocchi primers good?

I picked up a brick in a knee jerk purchase back during Covid. It was a miracle just to see them. I tried to work up a load in 6.5 Grendel with them ,95 grain V-Max and CFE223 powder. My results were unimpressive so I never took it any further.

My family has shot many thousands of Fiocchi small pistol primers.
The only issue is a couple primers out of round. Hand fed them into the press and they seated fine.
Bought them before COVID for $299 for 12000. Should have bought the whole stack of them. They came in a nice wooden box.

Did you rule out CFE as the potential issue?
No I did not. I never developed the load further, I just went on to other things. I'm not blaming it on the primer, I was just replying with my experience with them. Thanks for helping me clarify.

As an aside,.. just this week I did a ladder with TAC and CCI400s on advice from another forum with promising results.

I bought their large rifle primers last year. They take a little more effort to seat. Accuracy and chrono testing results show them to be very good. Would not hesitate to buy more.
I wonder if they are thicker caps like people say about 41's. I noticed 41's seat a bit harder than any of the others I have (400, 450, 205m).

They tend to seat a bit firmer than other primers I have used (CCI, S&B, RWS). No issue with them on target - the large primers work well. I did find the small rifle primers on the soft side though, and did pierce some with a 6GT, Borden action and what has proved to be a mild load of H4350.

I do notice my Fiocchi large rifle primers need a little more effort to flip in a primer tray. And they are a tighter fit when priming. On brass with tighter pockets I moisten a Q tip with alcohol and moly powder and coat the primer pockets. That gives less effort and way better feel.
