450 ruger BM

What would you guys check first I was out deer hunting awhile back and was shooting my ruger 450 Bush master had a buck in my sights and pulled the trigger and click nothing thought I didn’t have one in chamber but I did pulled the round out and the primer wasn’t hit ? I shot it once couple weeks before that i always do just to check & get a oil shot out of the way .

If the trigger blade is not 110% retracted that will happen . It's a problem with gloves on. Ask me how I know. Mine is permanently fixed retracted, end of problem.

It's VERY easy to remove the blade on these triggers, Just one pin and spring. I can't stand bladed triggers! Also, Degrease your firing pin spring assembly! get the grease out and use a very light oil. I use Hornady lube and it's the best in my opinion for the task of triggers and firing pin assemblies. This will not freeze in low temps and is SUPER lubris!

Ok thanks never took one apart before.

At the range this cartridge is intended for the factory trigger is adequate . What is not adequate is the factory ammo which is all being loaded to about 38,000 to 40,000 psi. The cartridge was designed to run at 60,000. If you load to bring your fps up 150 to 175 fps you will see a big increase in accuracy. The most consistent accuracy in the 3 450s I have been involved it was Hornady Black. But we cut average groups at 100 and 200 yards by loading closer t,o how it was designed. The information is out there, I found it. I had no plans to load for this cartridge until I found an article by one of the designers.
